Interview with the Vampire - Ep.2X6 "Like the Light by Which God Made the World Before He Made Light" UNCUT & UNCENSORED

And here I thought that Episode 5 was intense and eventful lol This season is RIPPING into me and providing SO MUCH for us to talk about and theorize/discuss. Absolutely loving this journey and I'm on the edge of my seat for Episode 7!!

Now, let's make some vampires, engage in modern-day subterfuge, write some new plays and stage a mutiny or two shall we??

Interview with the Vampire - Ep.2X6 "Like the Light by Which God Made the World Before He Made Light" UNCUT & UNCENSORED

Comments

Armand actually cut his own finger and healed Louis’ arm with his blood. It’s what Lestat did in season 1, episode 1. Lestat cut his finger and used his blood to heal the bite marks on Louis’ neck. It happens so fast that it’s easy to miss.

Devon Michelle

Good catch on the painting!

alice

Love that show! S3 in Feb! 😱😱

alice

This was a RIDE

Melissa

Also I really think you should watch and react to ‘Lambs of God’. Sam Reid (Lestat) is in it and it’s…something.

alice

Me getting heart palpitations knowing what’s coming. Please do the last two eps straight away, I need to see your reactions nooooow

alice

I am loving seeing you react to this series, the next two episodes are amazing! Strap in!! Also would really love to see you react to The Newsreader - another Sam Reid tv show that is impeccable writing and acting 👌 (I may be bias as an australian, but it is honestly so good)

Tegan Smith

I’m literally refreshing Patreon 7x a day hoping I’ve missed a notification for episode 7 😭😂 the wait is painful!

Caitlin 🥀

I know.. the wait for next 2 episodes. Which are my two favorites of the season.. is seemingly eternal. I signed up to see him react to those 2 episodes specifically.

hypocritex

i can’t WAITTT for next episode

elena

I think the word "prison" that Jacob uses in the behind the scenes is very important and ties perfectly into the design of the Dubai apartment. Some people probably have said this already, but notice the prison bars on the back wall in the bedroom? The fact that the book shelves are on the ceiling where only Armand can reach? The set design team did an outstanding job yet again.

Kat

I genuinely can't wait for your reaction to the next episode.. Personally, it's my all-time favourite from all of the tv shows I've watched. Love love love your reactions so much!!

Vie

This is a great episode! The Talamasca is so interesting and Lestat's finally back!! Also, the "Louis wears his emotions on the sleeve", or Louis is toxic and doesn't know how to communicate to his partner when he is angry or confused about something and then he becomes cruel with Armand...XD I mean, I feel we have to be more serious with Louis, even tho it's him who tells the story, I think we are too hash with Armand and too soft with him. It's a shame because I feel that you're missing a lot of details in the acting and delivery of words because you pause a lot between phases and then don't come back. It's just a recommendation, but of course its your channel so... Im eager for the next episode!

Victoria

I LOVED your reaction to this episode, specifically the ending. I cannot wait to see your reaction to the next one, as it’s a GOOD one! I really have enjoyed your commentary on this show. Probably one of the best I’ve seen so far. And as someone on yt said before, you are the perfect person to watch this show. Your intellect on things has been very inspiring to me. You’ve even given me more background on certain scenes that I never thought of. I also love your choice of words when describing the characters, and the series as a whole. Can’t wait to finish the rest of the season with you! All the best to you.

Monique Grosse

Fantastic as always! When you reach the end of the season, don't forget to react to the teaser for next season! It's delightful.

Azrielen

Your list was missing one of the main Great Laws: Each Coven must have a coven leader and only he can order the working of The Dark Gift upon a mortal. So, yes, it would mean breaking a Law for Claudia to turn Madeline without permission.

Andre

I second this recommendation! If for no other reason than to see Sam as a COMPLETELY different kind of character, so you can more fully appreciate Lestat's total possession of Sam 😂

Calluna Vulgaris

100% agree. I left a similar comment.

Helen

As someone who has watched both series about 50 times I love watching your reaction! It gives me that buzz I got the first time I watched. The next 2 episodes are masterpieces. Please please watch and upload asap as I just can’t wait to live vicariously through you. I totally agree with other comments that madeleine was feeling Louis’ love for Lestat. Did you notice how we only saw him through smoke and mirrors….

Vampgirl1978

Love your reaction! He’s back!!!! Also, I agree with you on Mindhunter, it is quite good. Interesting thing, Anna Torv who plays Wendy in that show has another show with Sam Reid called the Newsreader, and it’s also quite good if you’re interested 😊

Babi~

Another fantastic commentary! As someone who watched the show week-to-week, I can confirm the wait was absolute torture—and I can already tell it’s going to feel the same with your reaction this week! Watching you experience the show is like reliving it for the first time, and it’s such a joy. Thank you for everything you do! Also, just a quick heads-up: it’s been such a blast seeing your raw reactions, and I think you should be extra careful about spoilers for the last two episodes. There’s been a lot circulating online, and I’d hate for anything to ruin the experience for you in these final weeks! 🎬 🧛✨

Maggie

I also have a theory that in the Cafe scene when Madelaine says she can feel Louis love for Armand and questions why he doesnt tell Armand he loves him...she is actually feeling Louis love for Lestat. We have seen Louis tell Armand he loves him, he has no issue in saying it, but we have seen him struggle to say those 3 words to Lestat...Lestat who has been notoriously haunting the narrative and Louis. The same Lestat who Louis still turns too for comfort and familiarity??? some could say she "caught the soul he was hiding". But ofcourse Madelaine couldnt know that what she was feeling was Louis' love for Lestat because she has never met him and I doubt Claudia or Louis are quick to bring him up in conversation lol

Caitlin 🥀

YES!!! I recently just caught this myself and it made me need to sit in silence and stare at the wall lol the thought that goes into this show is so detailed

Caitlin 🥀

I loved your reaction to Lestat 😂 I think I literally had to stand and pace the floor for a solid hour afterwards lol. Also! Something I noticed on my 1000 rewatch is that in Dubai, in their bedroom, hangs a painting of the kiss of Judas. The kiss signifying his betrayal of Jesus - just before Santiago turns up at the cafe, armand kisses him on the cheek EXACTLY like the painting. Set design went crazy with that sly foreshadowing!!!!! Louis, I think, once he let go of Lestat or dreamstat he became a harsher/more hardened version of himself, the old pimp Louis returned. I think he needed to in order to gain a semblance of control over his life again which you can see in how he treats armand and how he speaks towards and about Claudia. In my opinion there is a part of Louis that is using Armand to feel more in control, he needs someone who won’t argue with him, is more passive, basically the polar opposite of Lestat in temperament. Like here you have Armand at the end of his tether, desperately wanting to relinquish this power and control that he’s had to hold all these years and here comes Louis who is seeking the polar opposite of his relationship with Lestat and wanting to gain power back. The last remaining link he has to Lestat is Claudia and now madeleine as an extension of him, which is probably why Armand makes the decision he does at the end, there is always going to be a part of Armand that feels the weight of Lestats presence and influence in their relationship. I also think the phrase that Louis states at the beginning - "wait for revelation to enter the room" - was so important in this episode and the last two episodes of this season....

Caitlin 🥀

One of the most enjoyable things about S2 reactions for me is seeing that moment with the Lestat reveal. It never disappoints. S1 was really really good, but S2 was just on another level - I think it all played out like a long movie instead of episodic tv (in the best way).

Kare

I think your analysis of Armand is spot on! Overthinking in regards to Armand is not possible imo

sierra's reaction corner

Same

Melissa

Cracking up at your giddy reaction to seeing Monsieur de Lioncourt as I do recall in the comments of one of the last episodes of season 1, I made a comment that I couldn’t wait to see Movie Man’s quick change of tune towards Lestat in season 2. Can’t help but love that man.

Lisa

Yess! Mr. Robot is amazing! :D

Maggie

I need you to go ahead and watch the next episode!!!

Ellen Owens

rule 5

Miki

yes u need coven approval to turn someone full 5 I believe

Miki

I could barely focus on the whole video because I wanted to see your reaction to Lestat appearing at the end so badly and it's safe to say your face did not disappoint hahaha! I'm sooo excited for the last two episodes

Kat

they arent reading the play its claudias diaries the little book

Miki

I agree! I don't have a problem with pauses, but I do think that pauses in the middle of a conversation between characters can make the scene lose its flow sometimes

Anaïs

Love that Mr Robot is in the pipeline, I loved that show when it came out and would be so down for a rewatch.

AnnaS

“Have you never heard of ‘Waiting for Godot,’ Santiago?” 😂 you caught the Easter egg without realizing! ‘Enduring for Guido’ by the Irish Vampire Sam Barclay is basically ‘Waiting for Godot’ by Irish playwright Samuel Barclay Beckett. It’s especially funny because irl Sam Beckett was actually living in Paris during this time period, so who knows? Maybe they’re the same Sams 😂😂

Ana D.

the next two episodes are insane (even more so than this episode's twist imo, I look forward to your reaction!

alex rain

I don’t think I can wait seven more days for the next reaction. LOL. I feel like I’m reliving the series for the first time. These show runners know how to make you gasp for more at the end of an episode. So well done. A lot of turn to watch along with you. Great insight, as always.

Terry W

The last 2 episodes are absolutely peak television. I cannot wait for your reactions to them.

hypocritex

Good point! Claudia also quoted Lestat to Madeliene. “Death in all it’s variations.”

Paris Hardy

If I can toot my own horn 😂… I wrote my final High School English paper on Waiting For Godot. To answer your question: These Coven rules are holdovers from older ancient religions that have yet to be described in the series. A rogue vampire not subscribed to any covens would look at these rules much the same way an atheist might view well known religious dogma. Most vampires are loaners that can tolerate very few others in their territory for very long. Especially the most ancient. Which feeds back into the loneliness. Loving the reactions man. Gird your loins for episodes 7 + 8

Paris Hardy

Came back to say 1:16:40 I felt so bad for you, but I laughed as well 😂

doodleydoo

Thank you, as always, for the in depth and insightful reaction. I truly look forward to your episode drops. Your reaction to seeing Lestat was everything it should be. I remember jumping up off the couch and squealing then pacing. That week was interminable . . . every week was, but man, that week was LONG.

Melissa

I totally agree with this.

Melissa

It’s hard to articulate but I do think Armand wants Louis to command him. I think Armand can only believe someone really loves him when they place their desire for him over Armand’s wants/needs/safety. If they don’t, he feels like he’s unwanted or being rejected.

Christine

Here's me hoping your overwhelming excitement at the cliffhanger = you'll watch the next episode sooner than normal. ;)

Melissa

All good for me

Helen

I love how everyone always gets excited at the end of this episode lol Btw I’d love to point out the smoke and mirror at the end of the episode, as in saying not everything you see is what it seems. It really ties into the memory is a monster thing that the show is doing, but specifically in relation to Lestat.

RÆY

It may just be my audio system. From iphone to apple tv, playing the video. But the IWTV audio is extremely low, mixed in with your audio which is extremely loud. Not a huge deal. Just wanted to see if anyone else thought the audio was hard to hear from the AMC show. Haven’t finished the episode yet. Thanks, as always for your commentary.

Terry W

Love your reactions! Wrt to the "healing by touch", Armand pricked the tip of his finger and healed Louis' wrist with his blood, just like Lestat healed the bite wounds on Louis' neck after taking the little drink in S01E01.

Marlene

You noticed Louis started to quote Lestat, but made himself stop when Madeleine asked why she couldn’t hear his thoughts. “The architects of our creation” are Lestat’s words. And we saw Louis tell Armand he loved him. So my theory is Madeleine was feeling Louis’ love for Lestat, because he is the one Louis never said those words to and was notoriously haunted by that this season as shown in scenes with Dreamstat. She couldn’t have known about Lestat though, so Louis went along with it.

Helen

Yes came here to say the same thing! Idk if you remember in episode 4 Santiago found Claudia's dairies, including the one with Lestat's last words, when he was snooping in their apartment. He took them and is now passing them around the coven.

Zoë

I really do enjoy your reactions. I just ask that for the final 2 episodes please please please minimize the pausing . They have a flow to them and i think they are best understood if you just watch and listen. (Not saying you cant pause at all just not as consistently as you tend to do ) . Enjoy the ride!!

Kitty89

21:33 idk if you got it but just making sure, they were reading one of her diaries

doodleydoo

Rule 1: Each coven must have its leader and only he might order the dark trick upon a mortal aka. can create new vampires Santigo's maker was killed because he made Santiago without the permission of Armand. And the rules are coven specific per se they are the rules given to them from Rome so it's like a universal thing Lol, "What psychopath eats an apple like that?" To that, I'll say a psychopath who has been through scarcity. She is fresh off a war. If you remember, in episode 2, Louis read out that people couldn't even get milk unless they were breastfeeding. You eat to make the things you enjoy last because you don't know when the next time you will be able to eat an apple or even afford something sweet.

Valentine

So excited!!!

Melissa
