She-Hulk: Attorney at Law S1 E1 (Full Reaction)

Hey everyone! So, this was a fun introduction to this new MCU show. For some reason, I thought the shows were going to be an hour, but they are a around 35 mins each. I'll be putting up three a week instead!

Even though I enjoyed the pilot, I actually thought the next two episodes were a lot better. This show is a lot of fun and I'm excited to see more about Jen's character.

Did you guys ever read the She-Hulk comics?

Watched on: Disney+ / Runtime:37:27

Hope you enjoy!

The mic is WAY sensitive. Was that a cat fight or dental drill? LOL

Yep, read and loved she hulk. But even more as a supporting character in other comics. As an avenger and a long-time member of the fantastic four. It was always interesting to suddenly have a legal viewpoint on the shenanigans and outright violent battles that went on between groups.

Totally agree with your interpretation of how Jennifer reacted to becoming a Hulk and how she talked to Bruce. Bit self-absorbed to tell a guy that literally tried to commit suicide that she has a much harder life. Yikes. But hey, that just gives her character more room to grow, I guess! 🤷‍♂️ Tatiana Maslany is awesome. I knew her as a very dramatic actress, so seeing her in this wacky comedy was a bit jarring, but fun!

In the first Captain America movie, there's a girl we see Steve have a little moment with during a USO tour and there's a theory that she is who Steve lost his virginity to. It makes sense! I enjoyed this show. It is more light hearted, but there's a lot of heavyness in Phase 4 so I appreciate the stuff that leans more into the fun side of things.

She-Hulk was listed as a law sitcom. Which is why it's so light hearted and short. I was really happy when they revealed it because I'd said for years it'd be really funny if they made a She-Hulk series as a law show, especially a sitcom. It's a shame the series is so short (episode numbers), the half hour case of the week format would work better with an old-school 26 episodes. Though, with the budget, that's not possible. It's my favorite of the MCU series, with Wandavision second. If you want to see how great of an actor Tatiana Maslany is, you should watch Orphan Black. She's brilliant in it.

Excuse My Brains

That is so cool that She Hulk was known for breaking the 4th wall! I really love how they are incorporating that.

Great reaction! Just a quick note. Bruce isn’t necessarily surpised that his blood turned Jen into a hulk since his blood was what was used to make abomination. Which is why he’s not fully reacting to those consequences since he dealt with that 15 years prior Another fun fact. In the comics she hulk was marvel’s original 4th wall breaker. Before Deadpool. She was doing it in the 70s and Deadpool wasnt introduced until the 90s So this show leans into the comedy and 4th wall breaking because of that!

This is exactly why Bruce in "The Incredible Hulk (2008)" was such nervous to have any samples of his blood anywhere. Making new Hulks is a bad idea.

She-Hulk was actually breaking the fourth wall before Deadpool. She was introduced in The Savage She-Hulk #1 (1979-1980), but it wasn’t until The Sensational She-Hulk series by John Byrne, which began in 1989, that she started breaking the fourth wall in that humorous, meta style you see in the show. Deadpool, by comparison, first appeared in The New Mutants #98 (1990-1991), but he didn’t start regularly breaking the fourth wall until Deadpool #28 (1997), written by Joe Kelly. Interestingly, Deadpool was actually a pretty serious character when he was first introduced. As for her origin, She-Hulk (aka Jennifer Walters) was seriously injured in a mob hit. In need of a life-saving blood transfusion, Bruce stepped in. Since his blood was saturated with gamma radiation, Jennifer ended up gaining Hulk-like powers as well. The major difference? Jen retains her intelligence and personality when transformed, highlighted in the show. Over time, she embraces her dual identity as both a superhero and a lawyer, something you’ll see reflected in this show as well. She-Hulk later joined the Avengers in Avengers #221 (July 1982) and even became a member of the Fantastic Four, stepping in for the Thing (rock man), in Fantastic Four #265 (April 1984). She was also a memeber of The Defenders, though not the Netflix version. The Defenders led by Doctor Strange and included characters like Hulk, Namor, and Silver Surfer originally.
