Hey! Here is my YT edit of Spider-Man: No Way Home!

This was such an epic film, with such a heartbreaking ending.

I hope you enjoy! ❤️🐑

I still remember watching the Brazilian trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Lizard was seen reacting as if he had been kicked in the face during the Statue of Liberty fight scene. However, the person responsible was removed from the edit, which only fueled speculation about additional Spider-Men online lol Then there was the leaked pictures of Andrew Garfield on set, along with leaked images of Tobey and Andrew's costumes. Additionally, there were leaks of Charlie Cox alongside Happy, all of which turned out to be true. This was my first movie, coming out of lock-down so it's always going to be special to me :D

By the time the movie opened, no one knew that Toby and Andrew were going to be in it, but everyone *knew* they were going to be in it. Marvel digitally removed them from some trailers, but people went frame by frame and saw inconsistencies. Andrew even did interviews adamantly denying he was in it or knew anything about it. One of the worst but most fun kept secrets during those days.

It just dropped on January 29th and ran until February 19th, so it’s still super fresh. It was originally going to be a prequel for Tom Holland's Spider-Man, titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year, but the six-month period between Peter being bitten and Tony Stark recruiting him for Civil War was too difficult to work around, limiting what the creators could do with Spider-Man. Not to mention the Spider-Man characters they could use. So, it became its own thing, set in a sister universe to the MCU, following all the same major events but with slight changes, mostly surrounding Spider-Man. The story takes place before and during Captain America: Civil War (2016) and is officially part of Marvel Phase 5, just not set in the Mainline MCU. So, you can watch it anytime you desire since it occurs during Civil War and doesn’t spoil anything you haven’t already seen. You’ll understand what I mean when you watch it, I can't reveal too much about the show. For comparison, X-Men '97 (2024) is not part of Phase 5 or any MCU phase since it isn’t part of the MCU, so you can check it out whenever you want. Meanwhile, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, since it's heavily based on the MCU, is part of Phase 5, even though it’s set in its own universe, similar to What If...? or Loki in that regard.

I hadn't heard of that series before. It sounds really fun!

Omg yes!!!! I hadn't recognized him until I was doing the YT edit. I love him! ❤️

Seeing this in a packed theater of Spider-Man fans on opening weekend was so much fun. The reactions as each new villain and the previous Spidermen appeared was insane. Also, did you notice who the bartender in the post-credits scene was??

It’s wild that Oscorp doesn’t exist in the MCU, at least, not as far as we know. When Willem Dafoe’s Goblin showed up and said there was no Oscorp, he might’ve just taken a quick look around Manhattan, didn’t see an Oscorp Tower, and thought, "Welp, guess I don’t exist." Who knows if he even bothered checking online for info about himself or the company? Personally, I think Norman Osborn does exist in the MCU, but maybe his company went under, or he never got the chance to build it. With Stark, Pym, and Hammer dominating the tech scene, there might not have been room for Oscorp to take off. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2025) got me thinking about all of this, it's essentially a What If...?-style take on the MCU. Without spoiling anything, it brings in way more classic Spider-Man characters while still following the same timeline of events as the mainline MCU. Everything from Avengers to Civil War still happened, but this version of the MCU gives Spider-Man the chance to develop his own world instead of being thrown straight into the Avengers. It really made me realize that if Marvel had full control over Spider-Man from the start, we probably would’ve seen an MCU where his rogues’ gallery was front and center, rather than pulling villains in from alternate realities. We could’ve even had an MCU Norman Osborn from the beginning, maybe played by someone like Colman Domingo (who recently said he’d love the role). That’s the whole appeal of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: an MCU where Spidey actually gets to focus on his world. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! :)
