Added 2024-12-24 00:18:23 +0000 UTCIt's time to celebrate the holidays with our favorite Guardians of the Galaxy! It was great catching up with the old gang and seeing how they have been experiencing life since the creation of the multiverse.
This was such a fun and festive holiday special and the music was catchy too! I kept trying to sing along despite not knowing the songs.

2025-02-11 07:23:05 +0000 UTCJax, you looked especially lovely and I loved those snowflake earrings! You totally have to watch Footloose! It is pure 80's cheese, but in the absolute best way! And Kevin Bacon was in the very first Friday the 13th movie in one of his earliest roles and he has a pretty famous kill where he's in bed and is stabbed through the neck with an arrow from under the bed. But truthfully that kill makes no real physical sense once you know the whole story of the movie.

The best way to watch it is through MST3K(Mystery Science Theater 3000), RiffTrax, or Cinematic Titanic. Those groups(they're the same group of interconnected people) are kind of like the grandfathers of reaction channels. They would typically find terrible movies that had fallen into the public domain or where the broadcast rights were virtually nothing, and then mock them.

Us nerds do keep track but when I show my parents these movies I gotta remind them of past events that they forgot lol it can be a lot. I actually have a harder time with game of thrones or lord of the rings lore. Like names and events that to me is hard to keep track of. Lol

2024-12-24 03:10:41 +0000 UTCThe green doll that Yondu receive from Quill can be seen in the first Guardians of the Galaxy at about 1h22, just after the planning and they walk together, the camera switch to Yondu ordering the attack, you can then see his collection beside him including the green one.

2024-12-24 01:30:55 +0000 UTCThis special was announced four years ago during Disney Investor Day 2020, and it wasn’t until just over two years ago when we were finally able to watch it. Kevin Feige said that he and his fellow Marvel Studios staff always wanted to create a holiday special, but they didn’t have the right platform to put it on until Disney Plus rolled in. Mantis’ parentage originated from a deleted scene in Volume 2. It happened during Yondu’s funeral. While Kraglin was teaching Star-Lord how to use the Zune that Yondu left as a parting gift, Mantis confided in Drax that Ego was also her father. Cosmo was part of the Collector’s collection. When the Guardians purchased Knowhere, they released Cosmo and welcomed her to the team. My favorite funny moments were bulletproof Drax, Rocket lunging at Kevin, and Bucky’s arm. Also, Fictionaldarling pointed out that Peter might not be the most rational among the Avengers but he definitely is the most rational among the Guardians. He has to be especially with Gamora gone. Even Nebula respects him as a leader. My favorite heartfelt moments were Peter’s reaction to the winter wonderland, Groot getting a Game Boy as a present, and Peter realizing that he still had family by blood. I also gotta talk about the music. I’m so glad we got more unique holiday songs in this special. The only track I was already familiar with was Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses which is what played in the night club. The first time I heard that song was in Shrek the Halls. While I liked the beat from the first song, I personally liked the lyrics in the second song a lot more. There’s also a big change in ambience between the two. The crowd wasn’t into the first song, but when Kevin joined in they clearly got a standing ovation. By the way, Kevin has a band with his older brother Michael. They’re simply called the Bacon Brothers. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we can’t wait for you to get to Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. Until then, the Guardians demand our silence.
