Avatar S2 E14 (Full Reaction)

Here's the last Avatar reaction for this week. Next Friday we'll be wrapping watching the last handful of episodes in season 2!!

The Tales of Ba Sing Se: A series of short stories that explore the individual adventures of Katara and Toph, Uncle, Sokka, Aang, Zuko, and Momo.

What a delightfully light hearted and creative episode! It was wonderful seeing these shorts. I’m so happy we get a Zuko subplot that has nothing to do with Aang. He’s really coming into his own lately. I also love the reoccurring cabbage cart man’s subplot!

Iroh’s voice actor, Makoto Iwamatsu, unfortunately passed. This episode was dedicated to him and he will be very missed.

Watched on: Netflix / Runtime: 24:39

Don't we just love Iroh? <3

Just now getting to where I'm able to watch this with you. This episode is amazing. Iroh's is the top tier but it's all good. Even years after seeing it many times, when Iroh's starts my eyes sting in anticipation and the song plays and it just hurts the heart to hear him break during it. This show is truly the best.

yup this is the 2nd milestone moment in ATLA that cements everyone in to a life long fandom. Welcome🙁😌 Rest In Power Mr.Iwamatsu 💔

I can never hold back tears during Iroh's song. I hope I'm as wise and kind as he is when I'm his age. It definitely seems like he's gone through a lot of trauma and loss and it's really wonderful for a kid's show to bring up this difficult topic. The drawing of Iroh’s son was based on Mako himself as a young man and the song “Leaves from the Vine” was written about him as he was also a soldier. Sadly he never got to see the episode air. The actor that took over voicing Uncle Iroh for Mako for the final seasons was Greg Baldwin, who still to this day refuses to sing the song when fans request it out of respect for Mako, saying, “That’s Mako’s song.”
