Arcane S1 E8 (Full Reaction)

Oil and Water

Disowned heir Mel and her visiting mother trade combat tactics; Caitlyn and Vi forge an unlikely alliance; Jinx undergoes a startling change.

What a terrifying ending. If I saw that on my mirror I would freak out! Needless to say, these characters are putting my emotions through some serious ups and downs.

It was nice to see Mel’s backstory. She has such a quiet strength about her and I find her to be a very comforting character.

It is a great soundtrack. I bought it when this first aired and listen to it all the time!

"I feel like the writers of the show just think 'how much can we torture the audience'" Hahaha... ha... ha... haaaa... yeah. That's basically how the show goes, isn't it? Like, the fans of League of Legends probably spent the entire series up until this point just... begging for a big set-piece battle like this one. So, they finally gave us the battle that the fans wanted... and then immediately took the wind out of our sails by showing the cost and collateral damage of that kind of conflict. As for the kids in the shimmer factory... they aren't orphans. Most of them, at least. Silco is SUCH a diabolical genius that I'm quite certain that he pitched this as an opportunity for these kids to help support their families and provide a better life. I'm sure they're even paid rather well for the undercity. So, when the enforcers and a member of the council itself raided the factory, he gets to play the part of an industrialist providing job opportunities better than any that the topsiders throw their way, enriching the lives of these children. All while the enforcers come in and, because they don't like the opportunity that Silco is providing, shut it down and attack the children. The kids become martyrs and rallying cries for the undercity to rise up against Piltover. Check and mate. Well. As long as nothing unexpected throws off those plans.

The show's creators have said, though, that Arcane is only the first. While, yes, Arcane's direct story is wrapping up this is far from the end of the stories that they will be telling.

Oh I know the artists, I am talking about the fact that they wrote the songs. And needed to make sure the beats hit with the animation correctly. I know those aren't in house artists. :)

It's true that Riot spent a lot of money on the soundtrack (and every other part of the show -- upwards of $10m per episode apparently), but much of the music was not produced in-house but by already-famous artists: Imagine Dragons, JID, Pusha T, Denzel Curry, Bea Miller, Gizzle, PVRIS, and many more. The final song, played while Jinx's rocket was launched, was from Sting and internationally-renowned violinist Ray Chen.

There isn't going to be a season 3 of Arcane. What They are going to do is focus on a different part of this world and focus on new characters. There are so many more interesting characters to learn stories about. They don't want to water the stories down to stretch them out too long. They have so much more to tell. This is just the first part of the world they focused on. The game company, Riot Games has their own music department that writes and composes all the music. It is all written specifically to the show and not just added in. They make sure the songs actually reflect the scenes they are shown in and hit all the correct moments. Some joke that the games they produce are to fund their music department because they are just so good.

Mel was right, Jayce didn't know war...

Vi blames herself because she hit Powder when she lost her temper.

When she was talking about when a real monster showed up, she was referring to herself. Not Silco. She felt like the monster was her anger and her hitting her sister. And she ran away from it.
