As this show progresses, I can see more adult story lines coming in and Aang and his friends are really starting to grow up as they explore the world. It's been really wonderful seeing all the world building this show has to offer.
Synopsis: The King of Omashu
Aang brings Katara and Sokka to the Earth Nation town of Omachi. The King puts Aang to a series of challenges to test his patience, focus, and wisdom.

Aang can't stay here because he's supposed to learn water first before he's allowed to start earth. Although it's never made clear if he actually needs to do it in that order, or if it's just because that's how it's always been done.

2024-09-21 18:46:53 +0000 UTCTo answer your question about why the city was still standing, (which you MAY already know as I haven't started the next episodes yet), the Fire Nation destroyed the AIR NOMADS because they knew, based on prophecy and history that the "next Avatar would be born an Airbender". Because of that, they wiped out the Airbenders in an effort to destroy the Avatar line. They weren't interested in the Earth Kingdom at the time.
