Edge of Tomorrow (Full Reaction)

This movie was absolutely MIND-BLOWING!!

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt team up in this epic action film to take on aliens that are attempting to conquer Earth. While Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen combat, he finds himself thrown into a deadly battle with no survivors.

If you haven't seen this movie, I won't spoil what happens. I went in blind, having never even seen a trailer! I did not see the twist coming!

All I'll say is that ending was everything I could have hoped for!! Thanks for voting on another epic film.

You'd have to shoot yourself in the head. Not good.

Only way this could have been better is if the cast Bill Murray. Groundhog Day II

What a great movie and awesome concept with impeccable execution. It’s one of my favorites. If I ever find myself in a crazy time loop I am hoping it is during one of the best days of life and not a hellish nightmare.

You are one of my OG subscribers!! ❤️ Not knowing what this movie was about made it so much more thrilling!! Hope you enjoyed it.

Jacqueline

This movie had such a perfect ending!

Jacqueline

I cannot tell you mine! But everyone should ha e codeword just in case of time travel!

Jacqueline

This movie is way more fun that you would think it would be. It's one of my go to movies when people come over and I want to do a live "first time watching" reaction with folks and it never disappoints. My other go to is Cabin in the Woods which also on its face sounds so generic it's not worth the time, but like this movie, never disappoints. My other, other go to is Hardcore Henry, but I don't think I've ever seen that on any reactors poll, let alone watching it, lol.

The best execution of the repeating day concept that I've seen. Having rules that are easy enough to follow, and brilliant writing that keeps the viewer guessing.

Cameron

Glad you enjoyed it, it is a great film!

I think I prefer this ending, even with it's logical nonsequiturs more than the original Japanese author's unhappy ending.

The typical assumption with those type of mechanized suits is that there's a built-in exoskeleton, which means that the suit is assisting with movement (similar to power steering vs manual) and providing enhanced strength. Motorized exoskeletons are a real thing, but they've been under development for 40+ years and we're just entering the Model T days.

It was named by a geologist who visited the area. I've never known the precise reason he named it that. He was in search of certain rocks in the area. In the area where I live (Halls Gap) there is a specific rock called millerite that was found in the 50s and 60s after they blasted through the hillside when straightening out US highway 27. Kentucky really is a geological wonder.

It isn't an even playing field at the end of the movie. The aliens are dead. At the end, the general was reporting a power surge which resulted in a total collapse of the enemy. Forces were moving across the country side without resistance. What's interesting is that power surge signaling the end of the aliens happened a full 24 hours before the Omega actually died.

So why do they call it Science Hill? 😜🤣

Dave Hill

For the record I’d like to say that I live 20 minutes from Science Hill, KY.

MotoDork

Hehe- Me too! But hey! That’s the joy of watching along with YOU! 💖 Living vicariously through your reaction to it!

Great to have seen this great movie again here, and see your reaction. From what I understood, the General said they detected a surge of energy in Paris (from when the omega died) that rendered the enemy unable to fight, and troops were advancing into Europe with no resistance at all. So when the Omega died, so did all the mimics. This movie it's great. It's like my 5th time now. And I always enjoy it. There were many talks for a sequel for so long.

AJSan

It was SOO good!! This is one of those movies I wish I could watch again for the first time.

Jacqueline

Fantastic, right? I'm super glad this one won! :-D

Kay Douglas

I can't believe I never made that connection!

Mike Smith

This is actually my second favorite movie with a female lead named Rita. The best is a Bill Murray comedy called Groundhog Day, and if you haven’t seen the film it would be a really fun reaction.

Alex Ch

First time watching! Great choice by "Jax Squad!" 😉

Michael Norman

What are the codewords?

Aendery2k

I discovered your channel with your Top Gun Maverick reaction so I was excited to see another Tom Cruise action movie win your most recent poll. This must've been quite the experience going in blind. Can't wait to see your reaction!

Mike Smith

I love how Doug Liman ends his movies. In this movie Tom Cruise’s laugh is so tender. In the movie “Mr and Mrs Smith” Brad Pitt has a similar moment that is so sweet. Christopher McQuarrie is such a good writer and director, who seems to sincerely love movies.
