Black Widow (Full Reaction)

Hello and Happy Memorial Day!

Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, must confront the darker secrets from her past. Long before she became an Avenger, she had a long history as a spy.

Even though we know how Natasha's story ends, it was so nice to see where her story began. What an emotional journey. Also, that post credit scene was everything!!!

(Sorry this is being uploaded so late at night! For some reason, this full length reaction kept having copyright issues.)

Watched on: Disney+ / Runtime: 2:16:10

Black Widow (Full Reaction)

Comments

I was waiting for your reaction to Black Widow. I was so excited to see that you had a full reaction on your Patreon. I already had the DVD, which was convenient. But you did not disappoint, it was a great reaction. During the movie, I found myself talking to you as if you were sitting right next to me. I wish I could watch a movie with you, for real.

William

This movie was always kind of a meh for me. But the Hawkeye series is great :)

Steve J

That's so true! It's sad to think this was all controlled by the TVA.

Jacqueline

After the shows hit, going back to thus point in time where free will is a main concept being discussed yet none of it feels like it's genuine. Because technically no one in this movie has free will, and I think we're realizing the bounds of what affects our will and what makes us who we are.

The problem with releasing it before Endgame is you wouldn't be able to include the last scene with Yelena at Nat's grave. This movie was as much about launching Yelena's story as it was about tying up Natasha's. But it should have been done as a coda to Endgame the way Spider-Man: Far From Home was.

Loki season 2 is still a godsend.

What a shame that this movie got pushed back so much. Although, it is completely understandable. That's amazing that David took pictures and sent them to the Duffer Brothers!!! That's so sneaky!

Jacqueline

I wish her movie had been part of the Infinity Saga. At least she has her own movie now.

Jacqueline

I forgot Clint!!! Oh no! 😅

Jacqueline

Hahaha! I appreciate you looking that up. 😂

Jacqueline

This was the perfect send off!

Jacqueline

I am so sorry you broke your leg! Wishing you great health! ❤️

Jacqueline

This movie really was great! So glad you liked it!!! ❤️🎉❤️🎉❤️

Jacqueline

I didn't realize it was the same vest!!! 😭

Jacqueline

I love dogs!!

Jacqueline

So excited to see you start Phase 4!

Mike Smith

Absolutely love this movie...Scarlett Johansson made the perfect Black Widow from Iron Man II down the line...and this one brought us Florence Pugh as well...

Steve Mercier

This SHOULD have came out well before Endgame.

This isn't one of my favorite MCU movies, but it's got some highlights. Florence Pugh as Yelena was awesome, you can see why she quickly became a fan favorite. The other pleasant surprise was Rachel Weisz as their quasi-mother. She looked every bit as gorgeous as she did in The Mummy Returns! :) Yes, there's a Hawkeye series, and it's awesome. I think you're really going to enjoy it. I won't spoil anything about the plot but.... there's a dog :)

Patrick Egan

The Hawkeye miniseries came out in November 2021, so about four months after Black Widow. This movie is honestly one of my favorites because of the themes of healing a broken family relationship, and because of the fantastic performances Rachel Wiesz, David Harbour and Florence Pugh gave. Ps: Winter Falcon is now my SuperHero name.

I believe in release order it’s what if, Shang chi, then eternals, and then the Hawkeye show! Also the vest Yelena gives her is the same vest we see Nat wear in Infinity War

Connor Vide

yeah when they initially meet up at Avengers compound after rescuing wanda and vision she has it on

Qtr

You need to watch Hawkeye I cried through this whole movie it was such a good movie. Hawkeye was a show on Disney

Glesnie

I love this movie! Say what you want, but the music is AMAZING and constantly still gets stuck in my head. Love you Jax, you're THE BEST!

DaftBasterd

Thanks for unknowingly getting me to rewatch all the movies I thought I had already watched when I was recently down for months with a broken leg but maybe it was a little too fast🤔🙂🫡🙏

true didn't make sense to have a black widow movie after how endgame went but hey it was also a nice send off to natasha since it was a complete shock in endgame

Liam Harrold

Since you didn't want to google it yourself... Peeing on a body part about to get frostbite actually can work, it's warm and it warms up the part which can prevent frostbite. As long as you get dry before your wet hands gets too cold again.. If anyone ends up seeing my search history, it's going to be confusing.

Thor ... and ... Bruce? Poor Clint.

eladrin22

I enjoyed Florence and Scarlet's performance but honestly I started losing interest in the MCU's stories in phase 4 and Secret Invasion was when I made the conscious decision to not follow the MCU any more. I hope you enjoy phases 4 & 5, but they're not for me. Really looking forward to Deadpool 2!

Black Widow is wearing the vest during the battle in Wakanda in Infinity War.

Alex Ch

This is actually towards the bottom in my MCU rankings. Only because Black Widow is so amazing, they developed her character so well throughout the Infinity saga, she deserved a better movie. By itself, it's fine I guess. But giving Scarlett Johansson such an afterthought of a movie feels like a disservice to me.

This movie was a semi-theatrical release if that makes sense. It was originally slated for May 2020 and it was also supposed to be the official kickstarter to phase 4, but then the pandemic happened and it derailed everything. It ended up premiering in July 2021, but not everyone was keen on returning to movie theaters yet as we were still in the middle of the pandemic. So even though they still brought the movie to theaters, they also offered it on Disney Plus at the same time through something called Premier Access. It was basically a one-time pay-per-view purchase of $30 that allowed subscribers to watch the film from the comfort of their own home. After a while, the film was made available to everyone at no extra charge. At the time this happened, my family and I benefitted from Premier Access for the following reasons: 1.) Black Widow is my mom's favorite MCU character. 2.) We were essentially paying for one movie ticket. 3.) We could be as loud as we wanted in our own living room. 4.) My parents prefer to watch movies and shows in Spanish, but we usually have to wait several months after the theatrical release for a movie to arrive on home media in order to watch it dubbed. This time, we were able to watch it in Latin Spanish right from the get-go. Since you already saw all of Stranger Things, I thought you’d like to know some fun facts about David Harbour’s contribution to this film. After wrapping up filming for the third season, he got to portray the Red Guardian. It’s kinda funny and ironic that his character’s birth name is Alexei given that he previously worked with another co-star whose character had that name but he would almost always call him Smirnoff. Late to the Party noticed that when they went to San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Here’s the proof, but skip to 20:39 to see their reaction. David was funny on stage by the way. https://youtu.be/ZC2UsNpNtAU?si=gyNH_MsR8ifqazEu Then on June 2021, he revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that he secretly took photos of the Russian prison set and sent them to the Duffer Brothers. Normally doing something like that can bring a heap of trouble, but David did it for a good reason. He wanted to help make sure that the Kamchatka prison set and costumes in season 4 wouldn't be direct copies of what we saw in this film.
