The Dark Knight Rises (Full Reaction)

"She blew up." Lol I'd actually forgotten how great part 3 was! Perfect ending! Being able to watch the trilogy over the course of a few days, rather than having to wait three, then four years, creates such a more impactful experience!! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride Jax! ❤️

Happy you enjoyed this trilogy. The ending with Alfred always makes me tear up. Great way to end the trilogy. After watching every movie once the second one was my favorite but now having watched all of them multiple times I cannot decide anymore. The music in all movies is epic, Hans Zimmer never disappoints.

Hey Jax, I was out for couple weeks for vacations and just could see this now. But glad I finally did it, really enjoyed your reaction. One thing you missed is the meaning of the prisoners chanting. It means: Rise, so this is when "The dark night rises" . Also, the Joker was in the original script for this movie, it would be even more chaotic. But as Heath Ledger passed away, they changed it.

I'm sure the most requested ones (and rightfully so) will be "Inception" which he made 2 years before this film, and "Interstellar" which he made 2 years after this film, but my personal favorite is "Tenet". I saw it in IMAX four times!

Glad you enjoyed this trilogy. It’s my favorite of the superhero genre, and I love MCU but the fact that this trilogy is so deep rooted in the realism that many of these things can happen in real life, makes them so much better. Of course there’s still stuff that’s a bit over the top like any superhero movie but for example, “the pit” is supposed to represent the comic book version of the “Lazarus Pit” , owned by Ra’s that contains magical water that heals him from anything, granting him immortality. The fact that Christopher Nolan incorporated a highly fictional piece and based it in reality where the “immortality” is represented by Bruce essentially being reborn and building himself back up from a broken spine, is incredibly creative and a great way to incorporate comic book material. Also the bike. The bike wheels turning. I could watch a looped video of that for hours LOL

Thank you so much!

Haha! I love that we had the same reaction to hearing Tom Hardy and that you thought he sounded clearer too. Anne Hathaway was fantastic as Catwoman! I haven't seen Joker, but I'd like to. I've heard it is phenomenal.

Jacqueline

Haha! Gotta work with what you've got!

Jacqueline

I'd love to watch more of Nolan's work!

Jacqueline

If I had to pick, I'd say MCU. I think the Infinity Saga is just phenomenal!

Jacqueline

Agreed! I'm glad Bruce got to retire and have a peaceful life.

Jacqueline

She was an amazing Catwoman!!

Jacqueline

I'm so glad you enjoyed this journey! I'm excited for LOTR as well!

Jacqueline

That's awesome!

Jacqueline

Do we move onto The Batman now for a compare and contrast? That one is so different than the Nolan films but also so good.

So I couldn't say anything before without spoiling it. This movie is why Michael Caine is my favorite Alfred. Its not just the love he has for Bruce, its not just the love he has for the Wayne family, its how this movie shows his passion, his regret, devotion, sense of failure, hope and frustration... He hurts because someone he loves hurts, and he can't fix it. And at the very end, when you are sitting there correctly predicting (and understandably excited) about Bruce and Selena, I'm sitting here just bawling my eyes out because Alfred gets to make eye contact with his best friend again. I know its a meme, and I don't care. Michael Caine as Alfred is precious and he must be protected at all costs.

Great reaction in all 3 films

In the comics at one point Bruce felt like he was too weak and unable to achieve everything he wanted, surrounded as he was by superheroes. He failed to save a little girl's life because he couldn't shift a massive boulder and as a result he invented a drug, a kind of super-steroid called Venom. Bane was a prisoner in Peña Duro, where he was used as a human test subject in some trials of a variant of Bruce's Venom serum. Bane grew huge and virtually unstoppable as a result. In a famous comic storyline, he shattered Bruce's back and "broke the Bat".

these movies were not my favorite, though i loved most of the actors in them. so when they came out i kind of ignored them and didn't know much about them. my friend took me to see this one in theaters, and i had no idea what it was about. i had the same reaction when i heard tom hardy for the first time. i didn't know he was in this and got so excited for it when i heard him. he really did sound so much clearer as bane, lol. this is probably my favorite of the trilogy, simply because of the side characters they included in it; blake, kyle, and bane. i think that anne hathaway is my favorite live action adaptation of catwoman. she's so gorgeous and so seductive and looks amazing in every outfit. lol i'm not the biggest fan in general of DC films. they're a bit dark for me. marvel always had a bit more levity to it, even with the infinity saga ending the way it did. but i think my favorite DC based film is Joker. it was a masterpiece. i hope you watch it, if you haven't already. with all the darkness DC has in its writing, this movie truly takes the cake. -- also, i just realized i saw 'papa' before he was 'papa'. i can't believe i didn't recognize him in stranger things. lol.

I think that what makes the film even more special is knowing that he filmed the whole thing in his living room and backyard. (It's a big house.)

Don't stop with the Nolan love now! Time to watch his other films, all of which are uniquely fantastic in their own way and I can't wait to see which of his films are going to be your favorite!

DaftBasterd

Ok, Jax, now you need to make a choice. DC or MCU ??????

Andy Eggroll

In the comics : Selina Kyle / Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) is a criminal but she fell in love with Bruce Wayne (Batman) they even got married. Miranda Tate / Talia al Ghul (Marion Cotillard) was also in a relationship with Bruce, they even had a child, Damian Wayne who become of the many Robin. Robin John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) was never one of the many Robin or a character in the comics, but many Robins were orphans one of those being Tim Drake which is close to the name Blake, and Robin (Dick Grayson) became Batman for a time when Bruce Wayne was thought dead.

A beautiful ending to an amazing trilogy 🦇

Anne Hathaway's Catwoman--my favorite live-action Catwoman--steals the show for me here...my least favorite of the Dark Knight Trilogy, but still a damn good movie as far as I'm concerned.

Steve Mercier

Thank you for inviting us on your journey! 🖤My favorite in the trilogy is Batman Begins. They’re all great. And the dark knight is probably one of the five best sequels, but I like the setup film. Looking forward to the LOTR💚

TheEbonyElephant

I forgot all the small roles in this movie. Selina's roommate is Juno Temple, from Ted Lasso.

Aendery2k

It was a great film!

Jacqueline

I love Dark Knight Rises. Not my favorite of the trilogy, but definitely the most underrated.
