"Who the fuck is Derek Moneyberg" update #1

Good evening Gang!

So a few things this week I wanted to chat about:

Firstly, I have started preliminary work on the next video! So as per my last post, i had said one of the options on the table was a shorter, palate cleanser video in between "bigger" projects. I was kinda leaning in that direction, but the swell of support for that idea kinda pushed me over the line. So that's what I'm currently working on! A slight return to the world of Fakes, Frauds & Cults with a video on this doofus called Derek Moneyberg (not his real name). Moneyberg has weaseled his way into the world of MMA and BJJ off the back of a career as a wealth coach/pick up artist and he made headlines in the last few weeks after claiming to be a black belt in BJJ depsite never attending a single group class.

My plan is to work on this for a couple of weeks, see how it goes, if I'm feeling it or not, and basically let that guide me as to whether or not its really a viable topic. At this early stage I feel like this thing could be 10 minutes long or it could be 40 and right now I couldn't say which way it'll end up. It's been so long since I've done a short video that it just doesn't feel right to me, you know? Like I'm shortchanging people if it isn't a bare minimum of 45 mins! I don't think the Conor 4 President video really counts as I wrote and edited that in a day, it was more of an opinion piece than a real, researched video. But, having said all that, at time of writing, I have an intro written, recorded and edited, and the script is under way. So, we'll see how this thing pans out!

Second thing is, Vimeo is kaput, for good lol. I sent them a message to say that there was no way in hell I could afford their next tier of pricing, and Id been a customer for the last 4 years, so they could either deal with the occasional surge in traffic, and keep a customer, or they could well, shove it. Their silence leads me to believe they chose the "shove it" option. So right now I'm looking for an alternative place to upload the older videos. Newer videos I will just upload directly to Patreon, but I know its nice to have a single page you can access for archive stuff, which isn't really an option on Patreon. So I am working on that, and will have them up soon!

Thirdly, you might have seen over on Youtube I just launched a new site for t-shirts. I had recieved a few complaints from people that orders were taking months to process and in some cases not being recieved at all, with my old provider, teespring. So I've moved to a new partner called Fourthwall, set up a whole new website for it, www.blownapart.com and best of all, I somehow managed to get Benydikt Szneider, the creative designer behind one of my favourite games in recent years, RUINER, to do a new shirt design!

This dudes work is amazing https://www.artstation.com/szneider and while I obviously had to pay him a not inconsiderable amount to make this, i do still feel honoured he took the job lol.
