I just wanted to give you all a little extra something this year, so here's a quick, half hour video of me discussing some of the games i got to play in between videos this year.
This isn't a deep dive or anything, it was written and edited very quickly compared to a normal video, as its mostly just opinions and not facts. But if you wanted to hear me gush over STALKER 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, or indie gems like Thank Goodness you're here and Mouthwashing, this is the video you've been waiting for.
I've still to write a proper post-video debriefing from the end of year video, and a look at whats to come in 2025, so that'll be coming soon. Until then, I just wanted to say thank you, sincerely, to every one of you for your support. Its no exaggeration to say that the money from Patreon saved ours, and the cats asses, at several points this year when emergency vet bills came in.
So with all that out of the way, Nollaig shona duit, as we say in Ireland. At least, in the Irish speaking parts, anyway. Happy Christmas everyone!!

2025-01-13 07:03:25 +0000 UTCnot the entirety of GSC moved to Prague, plenty of them stayed in Ukraine, kept making the game there, at the later stages having to deal with power shortages caused by Russian missile strikes, and some of the team died while fighting Russians on the frontlines. easily one of the wildest developer stories to ever come out of the gaming industry as the whole, and it deserves all the more praise for it. STALKER 2 is an incredible achievement.

I looked back on my own games of 2024 and realised that it's a short lineup of new games, I mostly played old games that got updates. Though the Elden Ring DLC and the Dawntrail expansion to Final Fantasy 14 are pretty much games of their own I guess.

2024-12-25 08:37:27 +0000 UTCI too loved Indy and stalker 2. I mean when Indy uses the raiders opening as a tutorial I knew we'd be friends. And stalker 2's Skif says "when you're born to hang you'll never drowned" was a great tone setter for the bleak as shit stalker 2 setting.
