Post Lineal 2 Debrief

Good evening Just Bleed Crew!

I hope you're all keeping well. Time for the standard post video release breakdown. Mental breakdown that is. And also regular breakdown, because I can multitask. I'll also be randomly inserting some of the graphics used in the video just to break up all the words, starting with:

So first off, as always, THANK YOU to you guys. I'm stunned by the amount of people who joined the Patreon after the video went live. Normally, once it goes live on Patreon, for the week of early access I'll see a big influx of new Patrons, but once its up on YT that more or less stops. This time around the influx kept on going, even now over a week after it went up on YT people are still joining. I can only assume its because of the in-video segment about exactly just how much Youtube fucked with the video by forcing me to filter the Enson vs Vovchanchyn fight and probably mostly down to people wanting to see the semi nude photo of me that Youtube also forced me to remove haha. I promise, I was of age when it was taken. Anyway, to Patrons new or Old, thank you all for the support!

The video had a pretty positive reception, and I am my own biggest critic so obviously by the end, all I could see were the problems with it and things I wish I'd been able to do, so I was honestly surprised by just how good the reception was.

It was a genuinely fucking tough one to make. Mostly thanks to my own stupidity, as by the end, I had actually split it into two branches. A Patreon branch and a Youtube branch. So I'd work on one branch without worrying about all the copyright at all, and then work on the other under the auspices of Youtube Copyright bullshit. This was fine early on, by by the hour mark you're working on 2 very different editor timelines and boy howdy did that fuck me right up a monumental amount of times. I wound up with a bunch of different folders and dozens of rendered clips and had completely lost track of what was what. And in the end i believe I uploaded 37 versions to YouTube to see what segments would pass/fail copyright. The eternal joys of being a Youtuber.

In terms of YouTube success, despite being received much better than Part 1 by everyone I know who saw it, its actually performed worse than Part 1 sadly. Part 1 hit 120k views in 4 days, which was fucking fantastic, but then it got copyright struck so god knows how well it would have done if not for that. Part 2 took 7 days just to hit 100k. Its barely brought any new viewers to the channel at all, and in terms of revenue earned, if i count working on these videos as a full time job (which it is), I worked 7 days a week for 8 weeks, for a grand total of $17 a day lmao.

But it's not all about money and views. I'm genuinely happy with how the video turned out, I really wanted to try and stretch my editing muscles in this one and I think it shows in sections like the intro, and I'm fucking thrilled with the response from you guys.

Anyway, I always figured that if I ever got famous for anything in my life, it would be underground fame lol. My stuff is definitely Niche as fuck and will likely never appeal to the average viewer, and that's fine. But as long as some people discover it and enjoy it, I cant ask for more than that. Well I could've asked for Seanbaby to actually pull his finger out and complete his segment like he said he would but that ship has long since sailed... I just hope he liked the actor I replaced him with haha.

Another aspect of the video I was thrilled with was the replacement music in the outro for the YT version. The music I used in the outro in the patreon version was something I had in mind long before I ever even wrote the outro. I just knew i wanted to use that track specifically. Its a song off one of my favourite albums of all time, and ive been listening to it for over 20 years at this point, so i kinda assumed any replacement track would never stack up to it, but i knew i had to replace it for copyright. I couldn't have picked a better replacement than the one given to me by my buddy who makes music under the name Lake City Quiet Pills. Dude absolutely fucking nailed the assignment and probably turned out better than my original vision if I'm being honest. So yeah, despite not exactly pushing big numbers or blowing up the channel, as far as I'm concerned, this was a huge success simply because people who did watch it liked it, and i was happy with it.

So in terms of what's next, I have 2 options:

-Continue the lineal saga immediately with part 3

-Take a break and do something different before making part 3

When making the TUF Trilogy, I actually took a huge break in between parts 2 and 3 to make the Frank Dux video, All my homies, Power Slap, and an end of year video. I wasnt thinking of abandoning the lineal saga for quite as big a detour as that, but i may just take a one video detour just so people, including myself, don't get burned out on the same topic. As if i do another lineal video now, itll be essentially by 8 months of the same topic.

So there is also one other fucking weird as shit project that is a big maybe but its also so wild I feel i need to share! The eagle eyed among you may have noticed Violent J from the Insane Clown Posse in the executive producer credits. That wasn't a joke, because you all know me by now and adding the name of a random celebrity to the credits is exactly the kind of shit i'd do just cause I thought it was funny, but no, he really did hit me up on Instagram and was like "I cant figure out Patreon cause I'm old but Id like to support your channel cause I love what you do". I can't say getting financial support from The Insane Clown Posse was on my bingo card for 2024, but here we fucking are.

Anyway, Mr. Violent has gone so far as to ask me to fly out to the fucking gathering of the juggalos this year to make a documentary style video about the whole thing. I guess theyre trying to get Fight Circus involved too so thats maybe why thy want me out there. I have no fucking clue how I'd even go about doing something like this, but I also know that this is the kind of thing that one day I can tell the Granchildren about like "Hey kids, gather round while I tell you about a time when a fucking rap group who dress like clowns flew me out to make a video about them despite me having zero qualifications to actually do something like that". I mean that doesnt me any god damn sense right? Am I hallucinating? What even is this life anymore?? How do i fix computers for Lawyers during the day and then chat with the insane clown posse at night like some kind of fucked up Batman? None of this makes any sense. But hey I'm considering it for shits and giggles anyway.

Also you may have seen that I also started a...sigh ..titktok... channel.

Believe me, I didn't want to. I have a hard enough time keeping up with YT, Insta and Patreon without adding the social media equivalent of explosive ADHD to the list. Sadly this was a requirement by the people working with me on the streaming series idea. There's still no movement on that yet, but they basically demanded i start a tiktok because i guess all creators absolutely must have one or whatever the fuck. So yeah, that's how I came to be on tiktok, not because I'm trying to be cool. I will not be doing dance challenges.

Anyway Im rambling and probably riddling this thing with typos and shit by now as its 2am, but thats about everything for now. I'll probably kick off preliminary work on the next video this week, whatever it turns out to be, and I'll keep you posted when that happens.

As always, it's been a privilege serving with you.

Just bleed,

Nap
