Post video thoughts, a thank you, and download link for the Pride manga!

Hello!

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to all of you! And a welcome to anyone who signed up for early access for Part 3. I'm shocked by the amount of new patrons who just came on board, i woke up to like 20 new Patreon notifications on my phone this morning, i thought i'd been fucking hacked or something 😆

So that was a long month and a half of work on Part 3. The video just kept getting longer and longer. There was loads of stuff I really wanted to put in there but just didn't have the time for. I didn't get to talk about Anderson Silva in Pride, or even take a look at Gary Goodridge's career. But realistically there's so much to cover in Pride you could make a dozen videos about it and still only scratch the surface, and I have other stuff I'd like to work on now. That CM Punk video isn't gonna write itself

Fun fact, if you listen carefully, at times toward the end of the video, you might hear a slight jingling noise, that's one of my cats bathing himself in the background, the bell on his collar was picked up by the microphone a while i recorded and i didn't have time to re-record! Also, i only noticed when re-watching that i did a full on Mike Goldberg moment and said Cro Cop battered Fedor with "leg kicks to the body". That wasn't even meant as a Goldie-ism, I was just so out of it when i wrote that segment that leg kicks to the body sounded perfectly normal to me. Most of my writing is done at 1-2am and i really need to change that 😂😂  

It does feel good to be finished with Pride for now tho, i was speaking to a friend of mine who is in a Led Zeppelin cover band last week and he was like "don't tell anyone, but I'm kinda sick of Led Zeppelin". I understood his sentiment exactly 😂I love Pride to death but after 3 videos in 6 months, reading 2 books about Pride, every article on the internet i could find, and watching every Pride event on Fight Pass... i was ready to move on!! Tho i did come across some golden stuff while trawling all the old events, like this Anime intro for the 2006 openweight GP. It's incredible, a guy does a Masvidal knee on a Gorilla, a woman opens her dress and instead of breasts she has Pride gloves, it's beautiful. I found it super late in the editing process so i only managed to work it into a couple of scenes in the final video, but better than nothing. Again, while i love the modern day UFC, it's shit like this that really set Pride apart for me. You just don't see this in UFC, and I'd take it over a Ron Perlman narrated intro while a sadcore cover of an 80s pop hit plays, any day of the week..

 So after a bit of a break, it'll likely have to be Fake Martial arts part 2 because apparently no one is ever going to let me forget that i still haven't made a follow up to that 😂 As always, if you guys have suggestions for fraudsters to cover, let me know.
