Last spring my family and I stayed at a ryokan inn with an onsen in Hakone. We were only there one night, but saw a strange thing happen. There was a "conference" with about 2 or 3 dozen businessmen. Outside the conference room, there was a line up of cute young ladies in school girl cosplay. They paired up, went into the large conference room, and had quite a few drinks. What happened after? I don't know but there were some fairly drunk guys. I'm sure this stuff goes on everywhere, but strange that it was so public and acceptable to hotel staff.
