I enjoy the format of your "walk about(s)". On recent trip to Japan also followed your advice about taking in side streets. I did this specifically in Harajuku as I walked from Shibuya thru Cat Street thru Omotesado. In addition spent most of my time on side street while in Akihabara visting 2k540 shops and then walking up to Okachimachi and Ueno stations. Will send PM on possible lodging, etc.
