2021-11-16 20:23:49 +0000 UTCOh can I relate to the contrarian impulse, I confess, but James Brown more influential than the Beatles, ah, um ya ok, he's great and all but ( that's the contrarian in you ). Silk Sonic, these guys are amazing artists. They do have that James Brown sound and vibe down, but my theory is that it's impossible not to be contemporary and original. Who you are comes out if you want it to or not.The context of your time gives it a very specific meaning apart from the time that influenced it.And that's were the juice is.
