[Audio version] Too easy to be effortless
Added 2021-04-06 18:48:27 +0000 UTCAs an experiment, I've made an audio version of the most recent post, Too easy to be effortless. Is this useful? Would you value consuming the material I write here as a feed in your podcasting app? Email/comment if so!
It does consume some extra time, so it's probably not something I'll do unless it's something you all would find valuable.
(Thanks to Bryan Clark for suggesting that I try this!)

Sounds like there are enough audio enthusiasts here to make this worth doing. OK!

2021-04-13 19:12:54 +0000 UTCIt looks like this is possible if I record an audio track for all of them! i.e. it'll generate a podcast RSS feed which includes the text of the posts.

2021-04-13 19:12:16 +0000 UTCIn addition to the podcast feed, I would also appreciate an RSS feed for all posts. I'm not sure if that is possible with Patreon?
2021-04-13 15:06:09 +0000 UTCI'd really value a podcast feed from you!

2021-04-11 21:39:06 +0000 UTCA podcast feed would be delightful! I treat audio versions of written works as a first "skim" to help me know where to focus my attention when I read them.

2021-04-09 00:42:44 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you're trying out audio, it's a really useful format for me as I tend to queue up things to listen to for 1-2 hours every day. I also agree with the person above about the added value of getting to hear your authorial tone as you read.

2021-04-08 03:12:39 +0000 UTCI generally like to give early feedback on articles/software to improve them, so early access would be rewarding in that way. Early access as in “read it before others” doesn’t matter much to me. I mostly hope you’ll be able to focus on Your Thing, and not feel forced into producing too much “content” for us. That said, your Patreon posts really stimulates my thinking and I’ve written several long replies that I never posted (maybe because Patron doesn't feel like 'that' place). I really wish there existed a good forum for thoughtful discussions on these topics.
2021-04-07 21:09:51 +0000 UTCThat's helpful, thanks! This material does all eventually roll into freely available publications, but it would be nice to make these work-in-progress notes available publicly too. I need to understand how to do that while also helping patrons feel the marginal production they enable. Out of curiosity, would you feel better about patrons getting "early access," perhaps via a special patron-only RSS/podcast feed external to Patreon?

2021-04-07 18:29:58 +0000 UTCI prefer listening to (as opposed to reading) non-fiction so I would value this!
2021-04-07 12:16:32 +0000 UTCWhether you publish as text or audio is not so important to me, but I prefer it to be published freely available (on your homepage or as a podcast feed). Personally, I don’t want Patreon-only content at all. And the frequency doesn’t matter much either.
2021-04-07 10:57:59 +0000 UTCThis is great, I would appreciate more audio!
2021-04-06 22:05:54 +0000 UTCThank you for the tips! :)
