In my head, The golden bits are sort of a ascension/last resort forbidden form kind of thing, I imagine them as some sorta projected bottled energy or rage. I see them as not static but always moving, growing and subsiding at the end, I would imagine the constant churning would make them also very hot to touch, sputtering hot bits everywhere as they collapse onto each other. The handle of the sword would be his horns. I had a little sequence of it sketched but I ended up not finishing it as it came out little too gory for my usual content haha.
