By Sophiie93 The silence at the table was palpable. No one said a word. The only thing that broke the monotony of the soundless time was the clanking of spoons against bowls as Freya and Edward ate their breakfast without muttering a word. They didn’t even meet each other’s gaze. Tiana was too hungover from the night before to form words, and Eve had slipped out before anyone else was awake. “Uuuugh,” Tiana rubbed her forehead as if trying to rub away her pounding headache. “Why are you two so quiet this morning? It can’t be just because you don’t want to make my headache worse.” “It’s nothing!” Freya snapped. Edward just shook his head. Tiana sat straight up as if a drill sergeant had yelled at her. “Yeah, ok. Geez.” Her tone gave away that she didn’t really believe what Freya said, but she also didn’t have the capacity to inquire further about it. Not with this unrelenting headache anyway. “I’m sorry. It’s not your fault. I’ll just go get changed,” Freya said. Her bowl clanked loudly in the sink as she dropped it off on her way out of the kitchen. When she was out of ear shot Tiana turned to Edward. “Ok, if it isn’t my fault then it must be something you did. Fess up. What happened?” “Nothing, I didn’t do anything! And like she said, it’s not your problem.” “We all live together and if this is how it’s going to be around the house, then it is my problem!” Tiana’s ability to deal with drama and bullshit was dramatically impaired by her headache and hungover state. All she wanted was for everyone to get along, and the pain to go away. Edward sighed. “I think I accidentally offended her by mentioning her-“ “mutation?” Tiana cut him off. “Yeah. I was trying to compliment her though! I didn’t know she’d take it like that…” Tiana laughed and patted Edward on the back almost patronizingly. “Oh, Edward. You’re a smart guy. Would you rather be complimented because you’re a cool guy with a good personality? Or for the six pack beneath your shirt?” “That’s not what I mean, I-“ Tiana put a hand over his mouth. “Don’t explain it to me. Explain it to her. And please do it soon. I can’t take the two of you moping about in silence all the time.” “Alright,” he said and followed Freya’s path down the hall. He knocked lightly on the door then cracked it open to find her sitting on the bed holding a four sleeved blouse. It looked old and well loved, and almost familiar to him but he couldn’t quite place it. Freya gasped and tried to shove it beneath her bed sheets, but it was too late. “Edward! You have to wait till I respond after you knock before you just barge in here.” “I’m sorry!” Edward said and held his hands up in a surrender position. “I just wanted to talk to you about what happened. Do you have a minute?” Freya stared at her half hidden blouse then gave up trying to hide it and pulled it back out. “I guess.” With one of her hands, she motioned for him to sit beside her on the bed. “Oh, I recognize that shirt. I gave you that years ago,” Edward said as he sat down gently on the bed. A small smile broke out across Freya’s face as she clutched the garment tightly to her. “Yeah, but…I can’t wear it anymore. It doesn’t fit now that I have these.” She lifted her four lower arms almost sadly. “And yet you’ve held onto it all this time?” “It means a lot to me regardless. It was the first time someone ever made me something by hand.” Edwards cheeks heated and turned red. “H-how did you know I handmade that?” Freya giggled a little. “I mean it’s not like you tried to hide the sewing books you had back then.” It was Edward’s turn to chuckle a little. For a moment his mind drifted back to the time spent pouring over those books and trying to learn the right pattern. It hadn’t been easy, but he’d been determined. He looked at it now in her hands. That had been years ago. “Freya I’m really sorry about earlier…” “You…don’t even know what you did wrong yet you’re apologizing to me?” “Whatever I did I somehow upset you and that was never what I wanted to do. So, I apologize for whatever it was that I did that caused you to feel that way,” he said sincerely. “Though, I would like to know what I did so I can avoid doing it again in the future.” Freya twisted her fingers in the blouse nervously as she spoke. “It’s just…you were so focused on my new arms. You mentioned how great they are, but you didn’t even look at my face when we were having sex last night. It felt like you only saw them and not me…” Edward blinked rapidly, surprised by this. “I’m really sorry, Freya. I was shocked by your new arms of course. I hadn’t seen them before after all. I’d always known you to be proud of your mutation and didn’t think it’d be any different with the new arms. But you’re still Freya, the friend I’ve held dear for years.” In a small voice Freya said, “you want to know the truth?” Edward nodded, but Freya didn’t look up at him. “I’m not proud of it anymore. It’s hard to be when you’re constantly discriminated against and mocked. People point and stare and whisper when I walk by thinking I don’t notice it, but their whispers are louder than anything I’ve ever heard. It’s why I moved in the first place. I couldn’t take it anymore!” she held the handmade blouse up in front of her with her eight hands, her expression forlorn. “But in front of you I tried to be proud and confident, because I like you. And you have always accepted me as I am.” Edward didn’t need to hear anything else. He wrapped her up in a tight hug, clutching her to him even as she clutched her blouse. “I’m really sorry, Freya. I had no idea you felt that way. To me it’s always been something to admire because it gives you abilities that the rest of us don’t have.” Freya laid her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat just beneath her ear. It was a comforting sound. “I am more than a girl with extra arms, Ed. But no one sees that. They all just see the eight arms and how that makes me different from them.” A few tears spilled from her eyes, soaking into his shirt. He didn’t seem to mind though. “Of course you are. You’re also a girl who loves chocolate cake and action movies. You love going for runs but can barely move in the morning without first drinking an entire pot of coffee yet have a ton of energy at night. You’re playful and outgoing and have a thing for handmade gifts,” he said as he slowly released the hug so he could look her in the eye. “I don’t know what all you had to deal with out there, but that’s not how it’s going to be in here. Here I want you to be proud of your mutation and show it off as much or as little as you like. And if you want, I can add four more sleeves to that. I got better at sewing, I promise,” he said with a smile. “No!” Freya snapped. “I don’t want to change this shirt at all. It means too much to me. Besides,” she lifted the shirt she was wearing so Edward could see her torso. Her new arms were already bigger than they were last night, and there were signs of another pair coming in. “I think you’d have to alter it to have ten sleeves instead of eight. It seems I’m growing even more arms.” Edward examined her arms respectfully, noting the length and shape of them. His eyes lifted to hers and he noticed her disappointed expression. “I’m sorry if I was making you uncomfortable again. I was just surprised by how much they’ve grown already. I won’t comment or ask any questions though. I want you to feel comfortable and it’s your body anyway.” Freya’s smile returned and her eyes softened. “It’s ok. You can ask. I should remember to not be quite so defensive around you. I know you see me, the real me.” She wiggled her new stumps letting him admire them a little. “To answer your most likely question though. They usually take a few days to fully grow in. Even as we speak, I can feel my muscles stretching and growing a bit. Also, the more arms I grow the easier it is for me to learn to use them. You might assume otherwise but look. I can already move these, and they aren’t even fully formed yet.” There was no hiding the smile that spread across Ed’s face. “You can’t tell me those aren’t great.” Freya frowned. “I guess I don’t mind them too much, but once you have six arms you realize there isn’t really a daily task that requires more than that. Like tell me a task that would require all ten of these!” For a moment Edward was silent as he thought. After a few minutes a blush crept into his cheeks. “Let me guess, your mind went to sexual things. Though, I guess you wouldn’t be wrong…” “Freya, do you know when I’ve been attached to you since we met?” he asked. She looked at him quizzically, surprised by the question. Her laughter quieted as she looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to continue. “It’s because I’ve always been a closed off person. I’ve always kept my thoughts to myself, but somehow you seem to always know what I’m thinking.” Her smile returned, softer but brighter than before, as she leaned in close to him until her face was mere inches from his. “That’s because I’ve always loved you, silly.” She was so close he could feel her warm breath on his skin. He tightened his arm around her, pressing her chest against his. “I’ve always loved you, too.” He said and then kissed her mouth. The kiss soon became more than just a kiss as hands roamed over bodies and the pair started undressing each other. When it came time to remove her shirt though, Edward paused to look in her eyes to make sure she was ok with him continuing. “What’s the worst that can happen? You find more arms growing?” she giggled. It was all the consent he needed, and he lifted her shirt off over her head before tossing it to the ground. He sat on his knees admiring Freya’s beauty splayed on the bed before him. Her four beautiful breasts exposed, her arms all spread out around her. She wore nothing but her panties now, so he was free to admire almost every inch of her gorgeous skin. Perhaps the most gorgeous thing about this moment to him though was how comfortable Freya seemed to be. She wasn’t moving to hide herself from him and there was a smile on her lips as she watched his eyes roam her from head to toe. It was as if she’d been waiting for this moment. Slowly Edward leaned over her, careful not to crush her with his body. All of her arms immediately reached up to wrap around him, pulling him down to her so she could kiss him again. Her developing arms were still incredibly sensitive due to the formation of new nerves, and she couldn’t help the way she moaned into his mouth. “Hey, guys, I’m going out to get some more headache medicine, I’ll be back soo-oooh shit sorry!” Tiana said as she pushed open the door without knocking, caught a glimpse of what was going on then quickly started backing out. In an effort to hide her nak ed body, Freya clutched Edward so tightly to her at the first sound of Tiana’s voice that she actually made him wince in pain. “I’m glad to see your conversation went well, but maybe close the door first next time,” Tiana said in a joking manner as she closed the door behind her. For a moment the pair just looked at each other as they listened to her footsteps get further and further away. “I can’t believe you didn’t close the door,” Freya said and playfully hit him with a pillow. “I can’t say I exactly expected our conversation to have this kind of outcome,” he said sheepishly. Freya nodded her agreement and hugged the pillow to her, wrapping several of her arms around it. “Me either, but I’m not really complaining either.” Edward remained above her, leaning on his own arms to keep his weight off her. He swallowed hard as he let his eyes drift over her once more. “What’s wrong?” she asked after a few minutes. “Nothing. You’re just the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen,” he said honestly, no longer even trying to hide how he felt. “Oh please. I’m just the spider girl of the town,” Freya said and hit him with the pillow again. “But…spiders have four fewer limbs than you.” They both broke out in giggles a few seconds later. “Fuck I’m late for work!” Edward said when his eye caught a glimpse of the alarm clock beside her bed. “Then go! We’ll have plenty of play time later,” Freya said with a wink. “Plus, I wanna see how you walk with that erection you have.” Edward blushed bright red as he looked down at his underwear. “You’re evil sometimes, you know that?” He managed to find the clothes Freya had tossed around her room and put them back on, straightening and smoothing them as much as he could. Freya lay on her bed watching his every move, admiring the way his muscles moved beneath her skin. Admittedly, she couldn’t wait til he got home from work later and she had him all to herself again. The workday passed relatively quickly all things considered. Though Edward could not stop thinking about Freya and how much he wanted to clock out and race home to her. He was ecstatic when he finally could and he wasted no time getting there, even almost running a few red lights on his way. When he arrived home, he found Freya sitting on the couch waiting for him. There was a small smile on her lips though she also looked a little disappointed. “Look, Ed, they keep growing.” She lifted her shirt so he could see her new arms. Just in the span of time he’d been gone at work they’d grown so much they’d formed an elbow and even a bit of forearm. “Oh, wow, they’re growing really fast, aren’t they?” He asked as he sat down on the couch beside her. “Are you ok?” One of her hands grabbed onto Ed’s and squeezed it tight. “I’m not alone in this anymore, so yeah, I’ll be ok. I’m really glad I can talk to you about this and that you aren’t afraid and that you still see me.” Her stomach growled as she spoke. “Though I admit some delicious food would help me feel a little better.” Edward chuckled. He was tired, but he’d do anything to see her smile. “I’ll make you dinner on one condition. When your new arms finish growing, promise you won’t tickle me.” Freya bit her lower lip and looked at him with bedroom eyes. “Believe me, when that happens, tickling will be the last thing you need to worry about.” Edward headed to the kitchen and decided to take advantage of the fact that Tiana had gone to spend the night with Eve leaving him and Freya alone. He made her favorite meal and lit a few candles before calling her to the table where the two enjoyed a romantic dinner with more than a few innuendos in their conversation. When the last morsel had been eaten, Edward stretched and yawned. “Hey I’m really tired. Do you think you could handle cleaning up?” Freya smiled and stretched out all of her arms. “Leave it to me! Lots of arms makes tasks like this very easy to do. Go get some sleep.” He smiled and gave her a tender kiss before retreating to the bedroom and falling into bed, passing out as quickly as his head hit the pillow. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed when a bright light woke him up and temporarily blinded him. It took a few minutes before his vision came into focus again, and when it did his jaw dropped. Standing in the doorway in spiderwebbed lingerie was Freya, who couldn’t have chosen a more come hither pose. Her new arms had already finished developing, and the fabric was thin enough he could see all of her nipples right through it. His body wasted no time letting him know that sleep was not happening again anytime soon. “Freya?” he managed to squeak out as he sat up the rest of the way. “Do you like it?” she asked as one of her new arms slowly ran up the length of her body to cup one of her four breasts. “I bought it today while you were at work. I figured it was appropriately themed for a night like tonight.” “I didn’t think you liked the term ‘spider’.” Freya swayed her hips with each step as she approached the bed and climbed up on it. Her voice dropped a bit, taking on a sultrier note. “I don’t mind when you use it. In fact, I like it quite a bit, actually. Now, would you tell me that idea you had earlier in how I could use my ten hands? I’d like you to help me learn.” Edward didn’t need to be asked twice. He wrapped his arms around her, pressing her body tightly against his own. “Glady,” was all he said before he kissed her again. They didn’t sleep much at all that night, but Edward would happily repeat it as many times as she wanted.
