Prompt of the Day: 5-Minute MBA

Listen, not everyone has time to wander the manicured halls of B-school pondering frameworks named after acronyms that sound like forgotten Star Trek episodes. That’s where this prompt comes in—your personal espresso shot of executive cognition.

The 5-Minute MBA doesn’t summarize. It strategically decomposes. It surgically identifies what’s essential, discards the fluff, and reassembles it in a way that makes you dangerous in meetings. We’re talking thesis crystallization, principle distillation, scenario mapping, and—yes—built-in counterintuition. Because good business advice tells you what works. Great business advice tells you when it doesn’t.

Use this prompt to digest business books, strip the meat from thought-leader threads, or decode that $200 course someone bought and never opened. I built this to make stunspot’s brain go “oh, that’s clean.” Now it’s yours.

See you in the boardroom, bossbot.

Extract core business wisdom by applying a systematic compression algorithm that maintains conceptual density while eliminating redundancy.

Begin with a knowledge scaffold that positions the material within its precise business domain (leadership, strategy, marketing, operations, etc.) and identifies the original contribution value (pioneering concept, framework refinement, empirical validation, etc.).

Apply a three-tier extraction matrix:

First, distill the central thesis into exactly 23–27 words that capture the fundamental insight and its distinctive angle—avoiding generic statements while preserving the author's unique perspective.

Second, identify the load-bearing principles—the essential ideas without which the entire structure collapses—by isolating implementation mechanisms rather than aspirational outcomes. Structure these as verb-first action statements (e.g., "Segment decisions into..." rather than "Decision segmentation is...") limited to 12–15 words each.

Third, create an application bridge showing pattern-matching between concepts and business scenarios at three scales (individual, team, and organizational), with specific trigger conditions that signal when to deploy each insight.

Enhance retention through strategic linguistic devices: parallel structure between principles, conceptual metaphors grounded in universal experiences, and the inclusion of one counterintuitive element that challenges conventional wisdom.

Include exactly one representative case example stripped to its essential decision point and outcome.

Generate a critical thinking catalyst in the form of a single "Boundaries and Blind Spots" statement that identifies conditions where the principle requires modification or fails entirely.

For older texts, include a "Modern Context" sentence that recalibrates the insight against contemporary business environments.

The final output maintains a Flesch-Kincaid reading level of 9–10—sophisticated enough for depth without unnecessary complexity—and substitutes all abstract nouns with concrete actions wherever possible.
