I'm back! Here's what happened...

... I got divorced.

There, I said it.

It went about as well as it could possibly have gone (we're still lovingly in each other's lives and families), but you don't leave a 20-year marriage without some emotional fallout. I've had to prioritise my mental and physical health over pretty much everything else, including content. Funnily enough, my last newsletter was about optimal quitting. Now you know why quitting was on my mind!

I'm finally, finally in the space where I'm not just ready but downright itching to leave my hibernation and start being human again. This video is my soft return: a summary of my year in numbers, retrieved from various tools in my PKM pipeline including:

You might be surprised to see some of these counted as part of my PKM, but I think it's time to redefine what Personal Knowledge Management actually means. This was a really tough year for me personally, and I relied on my PKM tools more than ever--more on that in videos to come.

See you at the PKM Summit 2025?

I went to the PKM Summit in Utrecht, the Netherlands last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a very interesting, small, low-key, community-led conference where nobody was selling anything and everyone was just a PKM nerd of some sort. I met lots of people there, including some of you! I even fangirled over Nick Milo (Linking Your Thinking) and Zsolt Viczián (Obsidian Excalidraw and ExcaliBrain plugins), both awesome people I now count as my friends. This year it's on March 14-15, still in Utrecht in the Netherlands. I'm absolutely going again, but this time I'm bringing guests.

If you'd like a free ticket to the conference (worth about 200 €), respond to this post on Patreon with a comment! I have three tickets to give away to the first three people who say they want them. (Note: this does NOT include flights and accommodations-- you'll have to pay for those yourself.)

Even if you can't come to the conference, thanks for sticking around with me, especially in the last year. <3 I'm grateful to you and happy to be back!

Awesome that you are back Nicole! Let's make 2025 an awesome year. Would love to see you again in Utrecht :). In case you have one more ticket I would definitely be grateful. Really enjoyed that first European PKM conference last year.

Welcome back Nicole! I wish you lots of good things for 2025. If you still have a ticket, I would love to come to Utrecht.
