Two months ago, I bought a reMarkable 2 on a whim (unboxing video here) and while the onboarding experience wasn't the best, it DID whet my appetite for e-ink tablets in general. After that video and just talking about e-ink tablets a bit more, I unfortunately heard of another e-ink tablet that made me immediately regret buying the reMarkable... and of course I ended up buying that one too.
That tablet is the Onyx Boox Note Air 3C. It caught my attention for two reasons:
1. It's a colour e-ink tablet, which is something I've not tried before.
2. It runs on a version of Android, which means there are a lot of apps you can install on it.
In this video, I unbox the Note Air 3C and give you my first impressions. I wanted to give you the full experience of the onboarding experience, which wasn't the best. However, I do want to say that in the month since I recorded this video, it's quickly replaced both my Kindle Scribe and my reMarkable 2 as my primary (only) e-ink tablet. I'm still using it heavily. The fact that I can install apps like Reader, Obsidian, Dropbox, Kobo, and Kindle make it the best reader for me, even while it provides a solid writing experience.
Maybe a more nuanced review to come on this when I feel I've used it enough!
Happy weekend!
