Notes for work and play (research and D&D)

This week I have two livestreams for you all!

I just finished one with Bianca Pereira where we talked all about her process for taking notes on academic research. That's not exactly my area of expertise, so I'm really glad I got to pick Bianca's brain on it. It's currently being captioned, and I'll timestamp it shortly afterwards.

This Friday, I've also invited Andy Polaine to come talk about how we take notes for RPGs. Andy is my Dungeon Master-- he runs a weekly game of D&D 5e that I've been playing in for 1.5 years (64 sessions). And he uses Obsidian! We're going to be comparing our notes and note-taking styles for the same campaign, and I'm also looking forward to asking him what he thinks about having a player (me) in his game that takes copious notes. 😅

Podcast interview: The Intentional Life

Jorge Arango interviewed me on his podcast, The Intentional Life, and we talked about how I use Obsidian to learn and play in public, continuous note-taking, and how I use Obsidian for TTRPGs. I really enjoyed our conversation-- Jorge is an Information Architect, which means he's made a living out of helping teams structure information and communicate more effectively.

Project updates

To access this and other vaults, check out this list of Patreon perks-- they'll always have the most updated links and passwords for the vaults.

Have a great week, and see you this Friday for the next livestream! :)

Hey Thea! I show a bit about how I study in Obsidian here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAy9ZWaHSIw I also publish most of my notes from (online) courses on my Obsidian Publish site. Here's an example: https://notes.nicolevanderhoeven.com/sources/Course/Module+1+-+Foundation

I am very much interested in seeing some setups for courses (e.g. in academia or evening classes). I am a firm believer in the study cycle but I am having a hard time trying to set up good flows for my notes, lectures and topics.
