Visual atomic note taking with Obsidian Excalidraw

This week's video addresses the gap between taking notes textually and taking notes visually. I talk about how to bridge the gap by showing how to link/backlink to images, tag and add metadata to drawings, and embed images or parts of images just like you can embed notes or parts of notes.

This is all using the Obsidian Excalidraw plugin, which I've been using a lot as part of Zsolt Viczián's Visual Thinking Workshop (not an affiliate link-- just a link to a course I paid for and enjoyed). I think he's taking signups for the third cohort, in January. I'm still working my way through the course because I missed all but one live session (!), but I still plan to complete it at my own pace. The final project involves creating a visual drawing of a book we chose, and I'm looking forward to sharing that process with you too!

Last week, I crossed a huge milestone: 20,000 subscribers! I was travelling with family at the time, but we all celebrated together as I refreshed my YouTube analytics page and saw the number tick over. I'm still so surprised that I'm here after a bit over a year of work into this channel. Most of all, I'm grateful for you lovely patrons who have helped encourage me along the way.
