New Patreon perk: Discord server
Added 2022-10-31 09:38:04 +0000 UTCHey folks! Some of you have noted that Patreon isn't great for two-way communication: only I can create posts to address the community, and everyone else has to comment on existing posts or message me directly.
Feedback received! I've just opened up a Discord server that will be accessible by all Patreons. Discord is a platform for chatting to each other and to me, and it's invite-only. If you've used Slack, it's very similar. This is my first time running my own Discord server, so this is all very new to me!
Joining Discord is optional! If you'd like to join the server: link your Patreon account to Discord and follow the steps on that link. Once you've done that, you should automatically be invited to the Discord server. You won't get an actual invite, but when you open up your Discord app, you should already have been added to the server.
If you already had your Discord linked to your Patreon: you should already have been invited! 90+ of you are already there.
Patreon isn't going away; feel free to send me questions and comments as you always have. But I'm hoping Discord will be a nice additional way for all of us to learn together. :)

2022-10-31 16:51:43 +0000 UTCHi Nicole, ~~I can't find the Discord invite anywhere. I checked my email, spam folder and the Discord app itself. My Patreon account was already linked to Discord. ~~ Edit: Nevermind! There's no invite, I was already in the server :D
