Was there any Schadenfreude felt after Melissa and Sabrina got a zero for their foley?

Aino Esser

Loved the video! Really appreciated the distinction between foley vs SFX. I'd like to know what kinds of things did Stefan have in his foley collection when he first started out? Or if you guys were a making a beginner kit, what kinds of things would you put?

Lesley

Did he review the foley that Taha did? (The kitchen one)

I felt that this was a really exceptional video. Great stuff here. I absolutely enjoyed watching it. I grew up on listening to old school radio shows with my father, and we spend countless hours talking about how sound effects and such were accomplished for those (he worked in radio way back in the day). That has led me into finding cool things in entertainment spaces such as The Intergalactic Nemesis, which is a show where actors read dialogue in front of screens showing comic-style images, and foley artists work at tables supplying all the sound effects (see here: https://youtu.be/HfdTGzgvM6s?si=a73UGWYR8Qp3lizH). I am even thrilled when I see foley-style things show up in shows like Taskmaster (see S9e8 "Shaqinahat" where they have to foley a film clip as one of the tasks: https://youtu.be/RiAttf-oJVE?si=48tvI0wXy9K-ltEJ). I thoroughly enjoyed your exploration and explanation of foley. Very well done. And now, I am very much looking forward to your longer video interview to come. Thanks much for sharing this with all of us.

I loved this video a lot! I definitely got a new appreciation for foley from it. It was so cool that you actually got to learn from Stefan and work with him. I was wondering if you actually got the chance to show Stefan Taha's attempt at foley with the kitchen scene and if so, what his reaction was to it? And how did you come about to reaching out to Stefan and being able to interview and work with him?

Yanaira

What was your favourite sound to make?

Elin

What was the wet sheepskin supposed to be the sound of? Also what’s the most surprising foley sound you learned?

Hope

Really loved this video and how much it cared about sound in foley. this is more of a curiosity, but when taha travels for videos, is it for just one video or for multiple videos?

Raina Illune

I loved how this video was Taha being the MJ meme "And I took that personally". I'd love to know if what Stephan does is limited to film or if the same techniques are applied to other media like videogames or even music. Like, are there specialized foley artists for each format?
