Loved the video Sabrina :) I wanted to ask: Where do you think is the line between pop science that is actually facts and pseudoscience? Mainly because so much of the stuff on these topics rely on surveys and self reports

Pablo Rodriguez

Interesting conclusion, it's a bit like you're psychoanalyzing yourself. Have you been able to maintain this routine? Has your wake-up routine returned (from the "tired" video), and are you feeling less tired?

Loved the video! I noticed you use multiple angles for the talking head portion of the video. I imagine you're doing that for retention/attention. Do you think the content we watch, or the content we make, add to our diminishing attention span as a society? What are your experience in just having minimal angles for talking head (3-4 max) vs having ALL the angles (over 20) in a video.

Not gonna lie, I was relieved that the productivity oriented “fixes” didn't work! Focus is great but productivity is overrated :)

My first reaction to this video was that it was framed as though “100% productivity all the time” was a desirable goal, and when Melissa asked if you had tried taking a break, I was expecting a discussion of hustle culture and grind mindset in our late stage capitalist hellscape of a world. In fact my initial interpretation of the “I had a great week and then crashed and used my phone for 7 hours and didn’t get out of bed” story is that you dived deep into hustle culture and speedran your way into burnout. You didn’t show your daily schedule so I don’t know how relevant of a question this is but did your original productivity focused schedule leave room for downtown and leisure? Did you consider discussing the societal pressures of always having to be on and working and focusing 100% of the time?

I appreciated an acknowledgement that attention disorders exist! My impression is that so much of the conversation/literature about addressing one's attention struggles comes from neurotypicals to neurotypicals.... While I can't presume anyone of your (the AIP hosts') neurodiversity experiences, did you find any research/literature/self-help stuff intended for a neurodiverse audience (or by a neurodiverse author) to be helpful or relevant during the experiment? Or did it end up being out of scope for the video, or something you wanted to explore separately? Or did you find it/would you find it non-applicable to your situation? Basically since all brains interact with the world differently it's refreshing to see how others might process the world. Thanks for the thoughtful conversation 👍

I got kicked out of Sunday school for not being able to meditate and I was wondering... what's it like? I mean, does your mind go quiet or blank? Or is it just letting a stream of conscious take hold? Please explain how it feels since you are more straightforward than spiritual things and don't have Taha's natural abilities. Do you think just taking a guilt-free break without meditation would be as effective? (I ask hopefully, knowing that I've never successfully meditated despite being taught how to do it since I was a literal child... I have the opposite problem to Taha. By the way, my apple while listening to that was freshly washed, I'd just bitten into it and I could tell from the texture that it was either a Honeycrisp or a perfect Pink Lady. Not important.) It was an interesting episode, especially coming from a not ADHD POV (I have ADHD so I found the fixes you made and their effects interesting... it... doesn't work like that for me, unfortunately. I can't calm my mind and removing distractions... just doesn't prevent distractions.)

Was it hard to avoid literature that talks about things like ADHD? I feel like in common conversation there’s a lot of overlap (when people talk about attention they immediately talk about ADHD), but I wonder if that’s the same in the literature, and if they talk about attention without talking about attention disorders?
