This was an absolute banger. And everyone is asking the questions I have so I'm just going to say this: y'all's filmmaking is top-notch. That short cutaway to the wide shot of Sabrina's essay set-up had me cackling. And so many of Sabrina's to-camera bits being spoken "on the run" (packing up the projector, getting ready for and walking to the writer's room) is such a brilliant device. Y'all are like the West Wing of online video! Edit: Actually, come to think of it, I do have a question. I saw this video go through a lot of titles and thumbnails. Do y'all want to talk a bit about that? Has that been tough to figure out?

Loved the video! It was so interesting to watch! 1. Was wondering if you can expand on how you came up with the idea to make this video. 2. How long did scripting/writing take? 3. I see that you also had multiple people (outside of Melissa and Taha) in the video. How long did it take to coordinate and get those people (the writers in the writer's room + Adam + Scott) all together? 4. Unrelated to the video but I started subscribing to the Patreon around this time last year. You guys mentioned about getting 1% better. I was wondering if you guys can share some wins (and losses) from 2023. Thanks guys! Love the content you guys are pushing out. Can't wait for more videos next year.

this one was a lot of fun LMAO the current model that underpins gpt-3.5-turbo is around 20 billion parameters, whereas the initial gpt3.5 used ~170 billion. so i imagine that gpt4-turbo provided a similar reduction in number of parameters and is leading to a lot of the issues. they have also been changing and updating the system prompts that get fed to the AI before the user ever sees it so in attempts to keep things stable and safe they kind of limit a lot of its capacity. but as someone who uses it daily for programming practices, i principally only see worse performance during "busy" hours, usually like the afternoon EST. all other times i feel like it is just as good or better than it ever has been. btw, if you all ever to do a project with doing experiments with local large language models and the many different kinds of models sprouting up, I would be happy to help! i've done a couple short fun projects myself like this : https://github.com/cagostino/rubber-ducky/tree/main and try to stay up to date with a lot of the recent developments in the opensource llm communities.

I need y'all to list your top 10 romcoms 🥺 coz i want to watch them all (again) and I can't decide the order to watch them in!

I’m confused about the complaints the Writers Guild has against AI. Given the state of the AI script presented here it doesn’t seem like it could completely replace a writer in a realistic scenario which is how their complaints were represented (at least as far as I was aware), so is it more reasonable to think that big studios could use an AI generated script as a first draft to then hand to a group of lesser paid writers to fiddle with? Because that seems like something worth complaining about.

I had the same thought about the earbuds. My assumption was that because they were the wired kind they were better at noise cancelling (since wired mics are more capable than wireless ones anyway for all sorts of reasons),

Soo I guess we'll all just be waiting for the sequel "I pitched a RomCom to Netflix". 2024 goal?

This was an amazing video! I really like how well it showed a journey between the questions, theories, and the solution (aka finding out the beauty of a writers room). I do have a few questions regarding the production of this video. 1) What was the inspiration of the theory section? (the one with the red curtain BG + teleprompter) 2) I noticed how the graphic format in your interviews have changed overtime. (for example, Taha's video on sleep, the interviews had graphics showing clocks on the side). What led your team in deciding to change the format to the apple facetime look? 3) There's a scene of Sabrina walking outside while using apple earbuds as a microphone. How did you keep that audio clean despite the outside environment in toronto being quite noisy?

God, the “this story only exists in my head and with my friends” vibe is so real! (You don’t know how many stories and headcanons my friends and I have. We have a group chat where we just know that they already know those characters and storylines.) Have you had anymore thoughts or daydreams about Love in the Limelight since? (What follows are my own rambling thoughts from what snippets we got.) Will Max or Lily back off because of the perception (like are warned off by the producer or publicist because of the power dynamic issues and how it would look to the public)? What if they hold back until the movie wraps and then end up getting together at the premiere since they aren’t working together anymore and both have received more job offers because of the film, which “Has revived the RomCom genre” according to the critics. (…yeah, most of my social interactions are basically writers rooms with friends. I don’t even like RomComs but now you’ve introduced the idea and I can’t stop going.) Speaking of films that don’t exist but people feel like it does. Do you have any thoughts on Martin Scorsese’s film Goncharov (1973)? (I got Lynda Carter to answer a question about her “time on the set” on tumblr! 😂 )

When is AIP going into filmmaking? We need a film starring all three of you. You could call it AI Productions :))

Richard Tang

WILL YOU EVER FILM IT FOR REAL

Ava

... so how did this one get pitched? I'm curious?

deefdragon

Was this always going to be about chatgpt, or was that a surprise to you?

The video essay part was so uncanny, loved the programming rant part, loved the addition of Adam, loved the video and the unhinged energy of Sabrina. I was definitely not expecting an uncarley cameo there. It's ironic how MCU-like the cameos were considering the villain role superhero movies have had in the movie industry. For the question part, what is y'all comfort genre (not limited to movies but books, tv shows, games, comics, etc.)? I guess we already know Sabrina's
