AMA | the alarm clock video

Comments

After learning about blue light a few years ago it went from taking me 2 hours to fall asleep to 15 to 45 mins. I guess I’m really susceptible. (I use filters on my phone.) Unrelated: Do you guys have vivid dreams? I tend to have plot driven dreams. A friend has detail oriented dreams. Do you guys dream? And if so what kind of dreams do you have? (Curious what dreaming is like for Taha.)

What's your time gap from your 1st alarm to your final Alarm? Then how long does it take you from final Alarm to getting out of bed?

Mitchell Bell

As a shift worker who works nights fairly regularly, i need to know how to get sleep at more or less any time of the day. I have a routine that works most of the time, but did you find any examples of scientifically bogus sleep fads or ones that helped surprisingly little (other than not using your phone)?

Sam Parsons

what routines/actions have you maintained since making the video? does it still take a lot of work to keep those habits?

kelsey

Hey Guys, loved the video. I was wondering, if you had your phone on another room, what was the setup to film your sleeping/waking up bits? Did you just had multiple cameras set up or one and just moved it around? Also, loved the vibe of the end of the video and the AFC Wimbledon mug

I love naps. I used to start work early, 6am, and I would get home at 4pm and need to take a nap. Even now with a more consistent 8-4, I still sometimes need a nap when I get home. And usually it's because of work. I'm on my feet most of the day, I also work with seniors with various levels of dementia which is emotionally tiring. And while I am an awful morning person, I usually set 2 alarms 30 minutes apart because it takes me that much time to mentally wake up, I might try that morning walk suggestion, though now that Canadian winter is upon us, sounds miserable. Questions: what did you use to motivate yourself to get out of Ned in the morning, especially when you didn't want to? Did you find any research or information about the different kinds of tired? From my example physical vs emotional tiredness?

SpaceJay

I'm curious if you stumbled across Hello Sleep by Dr. Jade Wu in your research! Besides that, I was really pleasantly surprised by the end of the video (and as much as I dread getting out of bed right after my alarm rings in the morning, I might just try it again now). Thanks for another great video on an always relatable topic!

I was wondering about the "falling asleep" part - is that a rumination thing? And could this be another future video, maybe?

Wojtek

I vaguely remember a while ago Taha mentioned that he was working on a bedtime/sleep video. Is this that video? Second question is there any additional sleep changes you tried after the video or were the existing changes enough for better sleep?
