Another track produced using Ableton. Mp3 attached!
Actually, this composition has gone though many different iterations, including an acoustic version by my jazz trio Myriad3.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ1w2Qez64M)
Inspired by Mats & Morgan band, Squarepusher's Journey to Reedham, and Steve Reich, the tune starts with a rhythmic figure in 9/4. But the drums play half notes, so the pattern sounds twice as long.

The composition is structured ABABC. I wrote the B section first as an experiment in 2-part counterpoint. What would happen if you took a pulsing 8th note melody, doubled it up the octave, phased it out by a couple 8th notes, and then changed the notes to be have a more interesting harmonic and melodic relationship with the first part? This is what I got (and was one of the most difficult things I've had to learn on the piano).

Hope you enjoy. The sheet music is available on Myriad3's Discord channel!
