C'est si bon

"C'est si bon," a catchy tune that translates to "It's So Good," first charmed audiences in 1947. Composed by Henri Betti with lyrics by AndrΓ© Hornez, the French song gained international fame with English adaptations and recordings by artists like Eartha Kitt and Yves Montand. Its cheerful melody and simple message of enjoyment have made it a mainstay in jazz repertoires, a playful standard ripe for improvisation and a reminder to savor life's sweet spots.

This fingerstyle arrangement takes inspiration from Louis Armstrong's version of "C'est si bon." I've moved it to E major to give it a bit more lightness. I particularly enjoyed some of Armstrong's phrasing, so I've included a few of his ideas while adding my own improvisational touches. The song's happy melody offers a great foundation for exploration, making it a fun tune to revisit and play around with.
