a hello, a hangout, a bon iver cover

i keep writing useless sentences and deleting them so i'm just going to plow forward with mediocrity! some days you just can't find words and today is one of those days.
it is september. since we last spoke, jesse and i went on a truly spectacular trip to record music with two of our best friends, we survived aya's first 4 plane flights nearly unscathed save for a brief panic attack on my part, i had a birthday and my sister flew in to surprise me, i got to hold not only a barn owl but also a huge badass of a bird called an augur buzzard, i released a bon iver cover that i really really really loved making, aya started saying "turtle", and jesse and i celebrated 9 years of marriage and 19 years together.
in and amongst those things has been some family health stuff which i will likely speak more about some other time. things are ok but if you'd like to send some love and healing energy to the grannis clan we will put it to good use <3
anyway, onward to hangouts. we missed august but we now have our september online hangout in the books. tune in tuesday, september 13th. your local time will be listed on the event page! feel free to start posting and voting up questions for the q&a.

There are many things I'd like to say, but wait, how did you end up holding an Augur Buzzard and a Barn Owl?! That's amazing! I looove birds, I love raptors, they're so majestic and fluffy! I've been doing volunteer work in wildlife care centers to help rehabilitate animals from injuries, mostly birds, and I am always enthralled when I get to hold a proud Eagle-Owl or a cute Tawny Owl... Buzzards and kestrels are common too. And we have so many Swifts, they're so sweet (except when they regurgitate the crickets we feed them (that would be every other day)). Aww I just love birds so much! I kinda wish I were one.

2022-09-03 01:40:09 +0000 UTCAw, the birds sound awesome! I had to look up the augur buzzard. They look like eagles to me; I think of buzzards/vultures as having bald heads. The wikipedia page didn't really help me much there.
