unreleased song, oh my! (kg records exclusive)

somehow i found myself searching through my gmail account for emails containing ".mp3" yesterday. i thought i might find a cool old version of a song or something. (which ok, yes, i found those, too!) but the nuttier thing is that i found several songs that i had almost completely lost from my memory. the titles looked completely foreign, but when i started playing them there was this eerie sense of deja vu. somehow i knew where the melodies were going to go, even though it felt like i'd never heard it before. it was such a bizarre experience to have some past version of myself singing a song TO me, FROM me, ABOUT me. weirdddddd.
anyway, i thought who better to share this finding with than you all :) this song is (apparently) called "give it time", and i (apparently) wrote it sometime in 2013. recorded a demo, emailed it to myself, and promptly forgot about it?! i'm not sure it will ever see the light of day, but at least it will see you all, and that makes me very, very happy. it's so sad to think were it not for some random gmail search, this song would have been lost forever.

Just dug the notification for this out of my inbox (ironic, huh). I like the song a lot, got a flow-y vibe. But until I checked the lyrics I thought they were "Then see us like the Salton Sea", which I couldn't quite figure out. "salt and sea" makes much more sense!

Being a song from 2013, I guess it makes sense. :) And I do remember you saying years ago how that album was named like that for having lots of words like "fire", "river", etc. And when I read "salt and sea" in the last verse, I immediately thought about that!
