Coming at you today with a cover of "Kiss Me!" Randomly started playing this song on guitar recently (it was actually one of the first songs I ever learned on guitar some 17 years ago!) and it just felt so lovely that I wanted to do it officially. Of course, by the time it's now out in the world I'm suddenly so self-conscious of how sickly sweet this cover might come off... but so it goes. I loved making it, despite whatever insecurities are coming up now. (On that note--I wrote a little post on putting oneself out there and general insecurity yesterday, read it here).
In other news, I am SO GLAD we had a KG Records pre-sale for the In The Waiting vinyls because only a handful remain! I totally underestimated the number of people who might be interested in owning one of these. Eep. Anyway, if you don't manage to nab one before they're sold out, have no fear, I've decided to make another run of them! They won't physically exist for a couple of months, but you'll be able to pre-order your copy here as soon as the other ones have sold out.

2019-06-13 18:35:21 +0000 UTCBack in the 90's, I was mostly a Hip-Hop and R&B kid. I didn't stray far from those genres much. During those more narrow minded years, I couldn't stand this song. However, in my 20's, as Hip-Hop got so fake and one dimensional on a mainstream level, my taste grew and I later fell in love with this song. Hearing you sing it makes it even sweeter. By the way, I received my In The Waiting vinyl a few days ago. It is currently framed and hanging beside signed vinyl releases by TLC, MC Lyte, and Vanessa Daou. :)

Also this is super random but the way your hair fell in the back with like the one thick strand reminded me of that bone marrow donor registration pic from 1836. (I looked it up and it was technically 2012 but sheesh it sure feels like that long ago.) You see it, right? π Anyway congrats on the overwhelming success of the vinyls!
