Hello!
I'm so happy to introduce you to our new song, “I Found You”! Jesse and I were inspired by my sister’s fairy tale of a love story with her now husband (and MY now brother-in-law 🎉), Chris. The magic and joy and depth that sprang from their meeting has been one of the most beautiful and amazing things to witness, and we wanted to honor that with this song and video.
On New Year’s Day, we celebrated their partnership with one of the most heart-warming, tear-inducing, love-filled weddings I’ve ever witnessed, during which we performed "I Found You" for them for the first time, so it only seemed fitting to share some of that day with you all. (Side note: I also delivered what was probably my worst vocal performance of all time due to my focus being entirely used up on keeping myself from bawling 😂) I really hope you guys enjoy the song!
Don't forget we have an online concert on the 27th and I'm looking to you guys for set list inspiration! Be sure to make your song requests on my last post so I can keep track of them :)
ALSO!!!!
Yesterday a new song found me quite out of nowhere, and oh my goodness, I had forgotten what an incredible and magical feeling that is. I spent the rest of the night dancing around and exclaiming to Jesse "OH MY GOSH! I WROTE A SONG? I WROTE A SONG!" It just doesn't get old :) The song is called "Do You See Me". When I wrote it I thought it was about one thing... and then when I sang it for Jesse for the first time a second layer of meaning came out and punched me in the gut and I burst into tears. Oof guys. I don't know what it is about this last year of songwriting but I feel like I keep being called to help people that are dealing with the hard stuff. I'm sure the light and happy songs will be back someday, but for now I gotta follow where the feelings take me. I think I'll be adding this one to the new album and I'm so excited to share it with you.
Thanks for believing in me and supporting my music. I can't really tell you how grateful I am.
