writing you this message is a welcome distraction from the fact that i'm playing a show tonight and i'm NERVOUS HELP. this seems to be the case every time i play a show out of the context of a tour when i'm in show mode, and historically it has always turned out to be a great thing that i booked myself a show because i end up having the best time ever and so much fun... BUT until the moment that is confirmed i am filled with dread and regret and nerves. so lalala i'm just going to keep writing this and maybe i'll forget about it.
many of you know my "gangsta's paradise" cover from my tours way back in the day when i used to play this live, and some of you know it from when i made a video on youtube for it 3 years ago! so i apologize for the repeat song, but i've been getting requests to put it on itunes/spotify and do a properly recorded version, so i thought it was high time i honored those! it was very fun (as it always is) revisiting this one :)
in unrelated news, i attended PatreCon last weekend and it was so inspiring and fun and i am filled with more desire than ever to keep making you the best art i can and continue making our little KG Records family even more special. i still can't believe this place and people like yourselves exist and it is the highest honor to have you all on my team. thank you!!
ok, time to face the truth. i've got a show tonight and there's no turning back! wish me luck. (and see some of you there!)

p.s. i JUST found out the show just sold out for tonight!!! ahhhhh!! this might be my biggest show ever and i am so blown away! who are these people?!?!?!

I've always loved the live version of this song for what it's worth. Hearing the audience get into the song with you is what the live music experience is all about for me. Music is ephemeral in so many ways. I guess that's why we buy records. It allows us to recreate a moment in time that is gone but never forgotten. You have nothing to worry about, your ability to connect with the audience is what makes your shows so enjoyable. I can't really explain it because everyone takes something different away from any performance yet we all share the same feeling of "WOW" what did I just experience. Just keep being you and your shows will always be great!
