It has taken me such a long time to watch this video because I knew it was going to make me emotional. I lost my mom back in 2010 and I told her every day that I loved her but once she was gone it just never felt like it was enough-so seeing this song and performance from Jhope gives me hope that she too watched it with me and always knew how much i appreciated her, loved her and miss her. Am sure she was as proud of all of you as you are of her. When J-Hope did this performance, his mom was in audience. She cried. Jimin, JK, and maybe V, surprised J-Hope by joining the choir on the first row of bleachers, all the way to right, to support him.

I come from a single mother home with six other siblings and I really really really appreciate my mom for loving and supporting every last one of us with every fiber of her being. This song already hits me hard but you guys' reaction added to that tremendously. Thank you for sharing and also shout out to y 'all's mother as well. Seeing my mother, I know it wasn't easy. I just hope to one day be able to give the same message to my mother like J-Hope has.

I could feel all of the love and emotion via this song. I got emotional when he repeated those lines acapella & WOW!! He truly brought tears to my eyes, but tears of true happiness for him, his mother, my mother, & how I pray that I will be able to speak similar words to her one day so that she doesn't have to worry about money and things. It reminded me of J-Hope's birthday one year when his mom and sister contacted him via video chat and he cried like a son who really loves and misses his mom and sister. I cried then too, because it reminded me that I could never hear those words from my mom again. As a single mom, I know the struggle it takes to do everything you need for your children just to make sure they can live a happy and fulfilling life and know they will be ok. Thanks MAMA, I know you still watch over me. Shout out to all the other mom's out there, and a special shout out to your mom, Nico and AJJ. Thanks for the reaction video.

I don't know where I would be without Hope World to help get me through recent struggles in my life. For us, and I think a lot of Hobi stans, I think that what draws us most to him is the genuine light within him. Like, yeah his talent is like no other, and yeah his personality is attractive, but I think it's that light within him that shines through everything he does that makes it all come together for me the most....ya know 🤓 That is so cool that the other members were reppin MAMA so hard. Didn't know about that until reading this but that is so cool. I love how they appreciate each other and are each other's biggest fans.

I really love seeing you two connect to Hoseok as a person. sigh... wish we could hang out together and fan out about him irl. it seems to be a bit harder for many fans to reach this point with Hoseok specifically (so I am thrilled to see you reach it). I think it's because he tends to keep his emotions and innermost thoughts to himself much of the time (as opposed to members like Jimin and Taehyung, who are very open) and doesn't talk about his past much (as opposed to Yoongi, who has spoken at some length about various aspects of his past). instead, Hoseok often chooses to share himself with us primarily through song and performance (something he has in common with Seokjin), which means us Hobi fans have to really value all the time he gives us on stage and listen closely to his voice, lyrics, and body language. AJJ and Nico, yall obviously are listening IN! I love to see it. "MAMA" was not only a fan-favorite song on the WINGS album, it was a member favorite. the boys are nuts for this track. Hobi's brothers shouted it out on every TV promo they did for WINGS, they were constantly singing it during rehearsal, and they would even do the choreo backstage AND jam with the choir just out of sight of the audience <i>during the actual concerts</i> because they were so hype. (apologies if you've already seen footage of that but it's so cute.) Jimin seeing Hobi walking around during a rehearsal and starting to sing "hey j-hope~" is still one of my favorite things. love this. thank you.

RM once said if it wasn't for him they wouldn't know were certain song would be like. Hobi does sing very well. l I myself remember that concert I could only buy one ticket at the time so my daughter went with her friends, and the only part she got was a video of that song of Hobi not only because at the time he one of my favorite, but also to say thank you to me for sending her alone.

The only time I heard Hobi be as real is Outro: Tear and now, Dis-Ease. I love when he just lets go. His best work is in moments like this. MAMA is a perfect song.

But, what she did for me was make me self-sufficient and have a strong sense of self. There was this woman who gave birth to me, yes, but she was and stil is not my mom. She had already 2 kids when I was in her belly. She said she did not wanted a 3 child, she did not wanted ME. That is how she said it... And I have always felt that grwoing up. Now myself I am a mother of a son of 18 years and a born dauther/now son of almost 14 with autism. When J-hope sings mama I feel so much love from his mother for him. This is what I feel for my kids. I had to fight a lot for my kid with autism. Because she/he is walking his own path. Not the path people think you should walk. I fought hard and now they see that she/he needs to walk his own path, otherwise he realy gets sick and stopt living. Now he is so much happier. He is a big BTS lover. Sings, playes guitar, piano BTS songs. I feel somtimes like Jhopes mom, nothig is to much for me as a mom to give or do for my kids. I am also single mom. And I want to shout out to my spiriual mom, Yanny who lives in New Zealand. She was a family friend of my mom and dad but left for new zealand when i was 9. We stayed in contact. She now is 80 years old. She is my mom, my heart and soul. We never see eachother for real. But we do videocalls. She is my support and grandmom to my kids... I love her so much. She gave me spiritual strenght and love, because this life i am living is not the easiest one... Shout out to all mothers! Who belief in and love their childeren with all that they are, heart and soul!!!! I love being MOM......

Some background Jhope gives in interviews is how, like most kpop idol's parents, his dad wasn't very supportive of his dancing. Jhope didn't know at the time how much his mom went to bat for him, how she worked extra jobs or longer hours so he could do all his classes and competitions. HE found out after debuting I think. It seems like a lot of Korean parents don't think careers in the arts are good because the odds of you making enough to support yourself are low. Being a kpop idol is especially looked down on it seems from just how many stories I've heard of other group members parents over the years. Even several of the other BTS' members parents were not very supportive. Rap/hip hop is still mostly seen as low class, at best, something only gangsters and criminals do, at worst. So RM actually hid it from his parents for years and Yoongi has said he's had fights with his many many times. It's gotten better over the years. I know of many older idols, who've been around longer who had gotten kicked out as teens and lived on their own. Some even on the street. And some of the non-idol rappers have gone down some dark roads. Yoongi left home as soon as he was old enough to, but it wasn't as bad as those others. So whenever, I hear the rare stories of idol parents not only being positive with their child's dreams but also actively supporting, its touching because its rare. Jhope's mom is a treasure and he wanted the world to know it. Plus, this song is banger. You guys should look for clips of the other BTS members dancing to it because they love it so much.

You guys are great and this is such an emotional song! Hobi is a pure soul and I’ll believe that forever and the man can Sing! I send snippets of me jamming to this to my Mom. We are closer now than we were growing up due to some addiction but she woke up one day and decided to quit drinking and hasn’t looked back since. That was the new start of our relationship so I am emotional with this song. Part of it is a longing that I didn’t have this as much growing up but thankful that I have it now. 💜💜💜.

When this song came out the boys said that all their parents congratulated Hoseok's mom for having such a great kid and praised Hoseok for dedicating his first solo in a BTS album to his mom. I think that's what's most amazing about MAMA. It was Hoseok's first opportunity to release a solo in an album, and he chose to make it about his mother 😭 Hope y'all are doing ok! This moment in particular gave us an even deeper understanding of the person that is Jung Hoseok and we appreciate him letting us in so that we can experience this all together. We are doing okay down here in good ol Texas. We have power again and that feels good. We are currently without water but managing the best we can. 2021-02-19 14:01:27 +0000 UTCLoved your reaction, I was raised by a mother & a father, my mom was more like a friend but also a mom too, I miss her everyday, my life changed the day I lost her 14 yrs ago, I was in my 30’s she was on 57 when cancer took her away from us, I’m now 52 yrs not a day goes by that I wish she were her sharing our love for BTS, cuz I know she’d love them as much as my sister and I do, often when the 3 of us where out shopping people thought we were all sisters, we look a like so much, it’s almost like we were 1 person cuz we were so much a like, so much so no one in the family that we didn’t see all the time couldn’t tell us apart, and 1 other bizarre thing, we could use each other phone with voice recognition and even it couldn’t tell us a part, we used to trick my brother-n-law, couldn’t & sometimes still don’t know if it’s me or his wife, same with my dad’s brother he’d call and ask my mom and ask if here father was there, thinking it was my sister or I answering, mom being the smart ass she was said “ I hope not because he’s 6ft under ground” I live & take care of my dad asked him if it’s hard for him because I look, act & sound just like her, he said sometimes it is hard, but we always talk about her and about funny things she used to do & say, have her picture all over the house and we know that she is here with us in spirit, she pops up time to time to give us a sign, especially when it comes to Holiday’s & special times. Love you Mama glad you are no longer suffering or in pain, can’t wait to see you again someday ❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💜💜💜💪🏼

They inspire us. We have ridiculous amounts of fun together. This bond is quite unique and sometimes hard to explain because it is so massive. But then you have your moment. It validates everything like it never did before. You feel a genuine connection that is now solidified in your life. The love that you didn't think was possible to get any bigger, just got bigger. So thank you for sharing this with us, I could tell you were both really really REALLY moved. Plus Hobi said at the Grammy's last year that liking BTS was the best decision ever. During their ending ments, where members talk a bit & thank fans, J-Hope mentioned it was his birthday and how meaningful it was for him to be able to perform “MAMA” at Gocheok Sky Dome in front of his mother.. and in true Hobi fashion, he thanked ARMY for making it possible. (It was also the first live performance ever of the song)..

This song is one of my favorite solo songs from Hobi (and he has soooo many amazing solos), I always get emotional with the choir, the expressions and the lyrics. When they were promoting the album he had zero shame with promoting this song and the love he had for his mom and I just have to give hella kudos and respect to him. My mom is my support and backbone hands down, I love her so damn much and I would not hesitate to take a bullet for her, but my peers growing up made it out to be something bad or weird when I expressed this. A lot kids just don’t respect their parent these days and take so much for granted, I appreciate seeing someone who knows what he has. If I remember correctly, there was one performance of his where the music went out (some type of technical glitch) and ARMY finished singing the song with him. It was pretty magical.
