BTS - Dark & Wild Album Review - WhatchaGot2Say

Comments

I loved your reaction to this album. It's crazy to me that all their stuff that's come out, nothing sounds the same because they play with all sorts of genres, that they have patterns and their style, but nothing is same. I love Look Here, Rain, Danger, etc. I'd love to know which album is your favorite after you have finished going through all of them as well as the BTS universe storyline (xCeleste has perfect summary and explaination).

oneofthemillionarmy

Thanks for this reaction. Got some more music added to my play list!

Janice suire

all this while I have been vibing to blanket kick song so much because of how good the music is and now I finally understand the meaning behind the lyrics haha its such a cute songg :))

Valerie Ong

For real for real FAM

WhatchaGot2Say

my fave album, hope the new one digs into them darker vibes, really tell all the shit this world is going through to jog on.. fr!

Fia Kouzaris

I am so late to this game. But I really enjoyed listening to this album with you two. I had heard most of the songs from playing Rhythm Hive :-) but I didn't know any of the words. It's got such an old school feel I should have known that you guys would enjoy it. Nice way to spend some time on a winter weekend. Thanks so much.

Fran G

This is my favorite album too. The beat is my thing. R&b and hip hop lover with lyrics of poetry. I love the outro too. Soooo good.

Kimmy Rose Cariño

Guys I love this album with all my heart! Thank you so much for making this video. Hiphop lover is my favorite song! Agree with RM 100%. ! Hiphop gave me power when I was younger and still does. A moment of silence for ,RM, Jhope, Suga and you guys.

Elina Psych

😳 Glad I made time for this! 😎🎶 I was vibing with you Fam during 2nd grade too!

Dark & Wild is my 15yr old girls fav album. I am so grateful for this album. 1. It allowed me to have an honest open conversation with her about boys and her. She discussed with me the behaviors she saw in middle school between boys & girls. 2. It has helped me become a better mom to my son who just turned 13. I grew up in a family of girls so having a boy is all new territory. His dad is wonderful but I want to do my part & be the best mom for him As you become an adult & your life gets busy you forget about a lot of things from those teenage years. Some might only remember the bad. Some might think those were the best years. Then I had my kids & I was like how do I raise these tiny humans. It’s not like when I was younger in the 80s & 90s with barely any tech. They are surrounded with so much information - music, peers, tv, music videos, movies & social media. How the hell is a parent suppose to compete with that? These are my fears. I am so grateful for y’all’s reaction. Take “Danger” - I can’t tell you how many reactors make fun of that first line by Jk (Dad how did you ask out mom). Like really how dare he ask his dad for advice. Kaitlyn & I discussed the song. Here you have teenagers who have these changes going on & trying to figure it out. They are trying to understand their own feelings & can’t communicate with each other which leads to frustration on both parties. Guys feel like they are getting jerked around (and sometimes they are) and girls feeling like they aren’t getting enough affection. Kaitlyn said “It’s crazy mom. I see girls who said they had 10 boyfriends and make fun of me because I ain’t studying that right now.” Don’t even get me started with WOH. Don’t apply adult terms to a song about being a teenage boy. This is the song that woke me up about the struggles my son is going to be facing. Since my daughter is older & female I focused so heavily in her. Prepping her for middle school saying things like “Be careful of the boys. It’s not their fault but they are just stupid in middle school. Just wait for them to chill out in high school.” It wasn’t until I heard this album & talking it out with her that I realized how insensitive that was for my son. That is when I really took a hard look at the stuff going on around us. So let me say this to all the guys out there: Your struggle is something real. How y’all struggle with developing your identity with society pulling you in so many directions: be manly, no be sensitive, no be aggressive but not too aggressive. Cry but not too much or you look weak. Again I grew up with a single mom & 2 sisters. I got the girl game down pat but never really looked at the guy side. My husband is a rare one. Since the day we met he has always just been him. His philosophy is I’m me & I don’t care what you think. I met him senior year & 26 yrs later he still inspires me to just be me. He’s my own personal Hobi 💜 There is no skips on this album for us. I love all the songs & refuse to pick a fav. Joonie rocking it out with What I am to You. I love when he gets aggressive with the mic. I got to watch a clip of him live & it was freaking epic. Blanket Kick is one everyone can relate to. Hell I bet there are adults who are dating who go home at the end of the date & battle with themselves about the night. 2nd Grade the beat is so much fun. Cypher: need I say anything 🤣. Look Here: Yes!!! Every time that song comes on I am a dancing fool. I was smiling & vibing out with you guys. Thank you guys so much. I am so happy that I was able to be here & see this wonderfully fun album review. “You nice, keep going” ~ Jimin 💜

KayKayOT7

So happy to see that you guys reviewed this album. It is definitely one I wanted Blaze to hear. And I agree with what he said about War of Hormone being part of the story line that is being expressed. A lot of army feel like people were just being nitpicky about the song but it did lead the boys to some great experience that I think really influenced their thinking and their music. And it is still super popular with army as you can see lol. Do I dare hope that you are planning to review all the albums? Eventually, because they are all hella amazing, and a lot,. There are a lot of albums lol!

Rae Avilez

I never saw War of Hormone as a misogynistic song, there are worse than this. I just felt that they, as a young man full of testosterone raging they had to express it. I actually found it cute because I felt like the boys are finally growing up. LOL And we all know that's just how they are with music, they use music to express their thoughts. THis shows they are also boys with naughty thoughts.

Nikki Nikee

Amazing review as always guys. Thank you for your genuine reviews! No bull just what you think and feel, that’s exactly how I became Army lol. This is my favourite BTS album thank you for covering it. Love to you all and all watcher fam xx

Davinia Gorman

Good looking out. I’m going to give them a call.

WhatchaGot2Say

I love this album so much. It is my favorite BTS album and it came out when I became an ARMY

Jenni MC313

I have Charter Spectrum too but I've never had any problems with it and I live deep in the woods lol. Have you tried checking with them to see if your box needs an upgrade because we had problems with out old box and we called and learned that they had new ones that had came out and upgraded to those. We haven't had any major problems since. Also make sure to have them check your internet speed too because ours is super fast now with the new one

Jenni MC313

Thank you so much FAM! We love being able to share these moments with you 🤓💜💯

WhatchaGot2Say

LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! I love your guys’ dynamic when it comes to your reactions and album reviews. It’s literally the best!

Jillian M

Wow what a great review of this album guys. I wish more would hear this for the story too. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I totally love your insight!

Chimming

Oh what a gem. Thank you!

WhatchaGot2Say

Guys, I found an early BTS reaction to their "Danger" MV - I've never seen this before! As per, BTS are chaotic but they look so cool (especially Rap Mon and SUGA). English subtitles are provided, which is nice, since the video is from 2014. Hope you get a chance to see it, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwlp6QiCmqo

kolea626

Not to cut to the chase but.... So when are you going to watch 2nd Grade live performance?

Alexis Buchanan

I love this reaction, you guys had such deep thoughts and interpretations! It was great to watch you guys enjoy this album and hear your thoughts on it as well! This album is definitely one of my favorites. If I had to suggest an album, I would suggest "Wake Up", it was BTS's first Japanese studio album and it has, while some song you have heard of, such as Danger and Attack on Bangtan in Japanese, there are a couple of such as The Stars and Wake Up that are exclusive to that album. Plus, I find it interesting listening to the Japanese version of BTSs' songs that I normally hear in Korean as the translations and flow can be different because of the difference in languages.

Brittany

Love this album and love y’all’s reaction. All army should listen to the classics. Would be awesome if you all reacted to skool luv affair or HYYH pt 1 & 2 next

Nene

loved this reaction and hearing your thoughts! a lot of what you said about the album really resonated with me

AJ

I throughly enjoyed y’all’s review. You don’t need one song to be your favorite the Whole Album is my Favorite. From start to finish there are no SKIPS. They recorded a portion of this album in a garage in LA during American Hustle Life.

Theresa

I have some thoughts on war of hormone myself. If you take a look at the title- it SAYS "war of hormone". In puberty, we are crazy hormonal and lemme tell you- girls are just as hormonal as guys. If you take a wrong turn on stan twitter, you end up in a hella thirsty section. It's normal that you have these thirsty thoughts as a teen, my god, we've all been there. It's just one song out of so many... put this next to 21st century girl and we have nothing more to talk about. I, as a woman, feel kinda flattered by the way they put it? And as Blaze said, there are way worse songs. We know our boys and that they are nothing but respectful. But props for them that they've learned and grew from their experience. Only thing I'm worried about is that they don't let themselves be hindered in their creative process writing songs out of fear they might offend someone.

Kristina Ehrhart

First welcome to the FAM 😬 Next I’m so glad that you were able to check this exquisite album out with us! That’s what I love the most about filming these reactions...is that we get share these kinds of experiences. It’s like we may not ever meet in person but through this we all get to know each other in a special way.

WhatchaGot2Say

Hi! New Whatcher Fam here. Just wanted to thank you for putting this video together as it gave me the perfect excuse to sit and listen to the whole album myself. Like you both, I'd heard odd tracks but not all of them, and I find it's always a different vibe when you can take the time to sit and listen to the whole album in the order they originally intended. Listened to the album myself once all the way through without lyrics and then followed along with you both reading them here in this video and had a thoroughly wonderful time. Thank you both for sharing your thoughts and reactions with us all. In terms of next albums to review, I really love the progression and storytelling in the WINGS album (it's the first one I listened to myself all the way through as baby ARMY), and also I believe it's the first one where they all had solo songs and got to stretch themselves/try out new things. Whatever you pick I'll be sure to follow along and have a great time, though.

ElectricLady

[i comment too much sorry about that I JUST HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY, I LOVE THIS ALBUM] about y'alls comments on war of hormone, i do agree with blaze saying it was part of a bigger story of growth, 100%! but also just wanted to point out that people, esp women, really did have the right to call out the misogynistic lyrics, whether or not they listened to the whole album. tho you can tell from the rest of the album (and their actions now) that those lyrics don't really reflect how they view women, but i'm glad they still took accountability by accepting the criticisms, humbly apologizing and grew from there. it's why i respect and love them so much. we all make mistakes, but like nico said, we all have room to grow <3

magyes

hi fam! i literally just joined your patreon when i saw you reviewed dark&wild lmaoo. this is arguably my faaavorite album from bts (it's fighting with tear actually) and i just HAD to see what yall had to say about it! i'm so glad yall enjoyed it, this album is an absolute GEM and has a lot of bts' best works, in my opinion. which is WILD bc this is just from their second year and, if you didn't know, they actually just recorded this whole thing in a GARAGE while simultaneously working on American Hustle Life (correct me if i'm wrong army!). bts literally embodies HUSTLE and they pour their all into every work they do which is why it's completely impossible not to fall in love with each one. this reaction was a real treat yall, i'm glad i joined the patreon fam! OH and my fave track is hands down Let Me Know. i adore each track but let me know just HITS. i'm the same with blaze, i really obsess over RM's line "faded but not gone. why won't it go away?" and his soft delivery and repetition of the line too...masterful! other faves are def Look Here, Rain, and Blanket Kick (sidenote: on spotify/apple, the title is actually Embarrassed!) tho everything is literally just *chefs kiss!*

magyes

I don't think I'll ever get over Cypher. The flow and the lyrics are FIYAAAAA!

Cynthia Serra Neves

I don’t have the words to accurately portray how much I love watching your guys reactions! This is one of my favorite albums and I love how you always embrace, dissect, and vibe with every song sincerely. You guys are always so genuine and introspective and give each song and each member their due and I really appreciate that. I wish I could write more but I was watching this right before bedtime so I don’t have the mental capacity after that Roller coaster but I just wanna tell you guys thank you for your reactions and I can’t wait to see more album reviews and song reviews in the future! I’ll be here with the Watcher Fam rockin with you. Sidenote: Let me Know is one of my absolute favorite songs that I have on a constant rotation and I believe it is produced by SUGA as well like someone else said above, I’m so happy to be immersed in that song again with you guys

Lexyoongi

Glad to hear you're gonna continue to do more album reviews!! There's so many good songs that they've written!

Breanne

OMG this is it!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼 😳🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

Lol sounds like a good plan FAM 🤣 Glad you enjoyed yourself 🤓💜

WhatchaGot2Say

I agree... no debating about the difference between JK and Jimin... they both got great vocals but distinct difference is there💜

MaiXao Vwj

For "Let me know" Jk was the one hitting the note on the album... for the live was Jimin. Blaze needs to react to the live performance...as you know Nico...the live performance has such a more raw and intimate feel to it.... my all time go to song... thank you so very much for reacting to the album..... love you guys!!!!

MaiXao Vwj

Thank you for getting me through the last 2 hours of work. "I'll send this email after Blanket Kick; I have to call the manager before Cypher 3 so I don't accidentally go AgustD on them. I'll send the report out after Nico says "You know I don't like to rewind fam", for the 50th time." 🤣😂💜

Jeanene

Look Here is one of my top 10 favorite BTS songs. Thank you for your reaction. You guys are my favorite BTS reactors because of your genuine appreciation for their talent and your perspective from the rap/music and dance world. It is always cool to hear one of you point out a specific technique or performance that especially catches your attention. Always looking forward to your next reaction when you have time in your extremely busy lives. Stay well!

Michelle Adkins

Let Me Know, Look Here, & Rain are my faves, but overall, this album is pure FIRE. Really enjoyed watching you guys fully appreciating this masterpiece. :)

Regret Goat

Thanks for the reaction guys!!! Loved that you guys took the time to listen to the tracks 1 by 1. They are album focused artist so they will always focus on connecting their albums song by song. And you guys get it! Love y'all for vibing with the older albums! Just for your info , the older albums are more rap based because they started out as a hip hop group so that's where their sounds sound like then. And it was only their 2nd year of their career so they were still exploring what they want to try out. Their CEO encourage them to write their own songs as Suga mentioned in an interview a few years ago. He said that the company is like a year round song camp. They feed off each other's ideas to make masterpieces. Everyone except for Jin and Suga were teens then so that's why the album sounds very teen-like. They were still growing up then. This album is mostly exploring on r/ships and curiosity during your teenage years. They did this album when they were shooting for American hustle Life and they recorded it in a small garage there and it has that west coast flavor because that's what they were aiming for. I hope you guys can listen to subsequent albums as well okay. Their discography going up and up just keeps getting better and better! And their songs are so insane I bet y'all are gonna love it!! BTW, aren't you guys in Grade 2 too now? hahahahaha

Nurul Atika Mohd Yazid

Let Me Know....definitely one of my favorites on this album and ever 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

love how rain rlly tells a story u can see in your head, even the additional sound effects like when suga says stretch you can hear him stretch in the BG 👏

smol

Thanks for reacting to this album! I knew you guys would love it! Dark&Wild era really is emotional and has that rough feeling, and I absolutely love that. They always do, but I love different styles of music presented by them. It's one of my top3 albums from bts. I always appreciate you guys' sincere and pure reaction, and it's really ok to pause a lot, since there's so much going on in a whole different language lol Oh, and as a Korean fan, it was a pity that a few lyrics weren't that accurate, because you know, bts really is a trickster of lyrics.

sin sin

Love the review!!! Thanks! I think reviewing the albums in order will be great! You can review skool love affair album in between as for "fun", or a break (not to belittle the album tho, it's my second most favorite album after dark and wild). Because I think the albums after dark and wild are all a whole new era that keeps going until Map of The Soul 7.

Rongrong

Thanks so much for reacting to this album 💜

Lollylil25

I enjoyed every second of this and loved seeing your reactions to some of the group’s most underrated tracks. It’s astounding to see the quality of production and lyrical storytelling even back in 2014! I always come back to this album when I’m feeling nostalgic. Would love to see y’all react to Young Forever which sums up the HYYH era that took place right after this. It was a turning point for BTS in so many ways. Thank you for sharing this!

Alana W.

LET ME KNOW stands out to me. I read some where that Suga wrote that song for the members and each one had a part to sing. YEAH, Jimin tears up that high note. I like 2nd Grade also.

Carlethia Street

What a pleasure it was to see you vibing to literally EVERY SONG on this album. "DARK and Wild" is one of my favorites BTS albums (among many others) with such variety of styles (rock, hip hop jazz, funk just to name a few), some great lyrics, literally banger after banger ("Look Here" really should be talked about more! I am waiting patiently for Bangtan to revisit this style sometime in the future, it suits them SO WELL!), really heartfelt from the start (Intro: What am I To You and how it progresses from happy loving feeling to crazy obsession, anger etc. and how RM DELIVERS IT - I can feel his emotions EVERY TIME!!!). Mind yourselves they made this album at the same time as they were recording AHL. I cannot even imagine their schedule at that time, they probably were getting no sleep at all. The fact they managed to give us this masterpiece being only second year into their career 👌 Also about the WOH "controversy" - I was not around when that song came out but I am a woman and tbh, I don't feel offended by the lyrics. The title is "War of Hormones" and that what this song is about: young guys going crazy for girls, being fascinated by them, feeling all these mixed emotions etc. I have not though for once they are being disrespectful towards women or misogynistic. In fact, I like this song A LOT, it's catchy as hell, very playful, uplifts your mood instantly. Anyway thank you for the review. Lots of love from Dublin.

Anna Kostrzębska

I got you, Nico! Here is the link for 2nd Grade Live Perf. https://youtu.be/CReBKd0pvNI

Iris

On this album i was especially waiting for you to hear Rain and Look Here, two of my favourites and yes i also got some Pharrell vibes in look here. Also sometimes the highlighted lyrics arent always accurate in terms of whos singing it always got to me when they didnt highlight Jimin's highnote in Let me know. For instance, I'm not 100% sure but considering how Jimin sounds when he hits highnotes, they highlighted JK in Stay Gold lyrics videos when I pretty sure Jimin sang the highnote in the end.

Alex Turnbull

I'm so glad you guys reacted to this album. It's one of my favorite BTS albums and so underappreciated.

Faith

Let me know and Jimin his high note gets me everytime. I also Love war of Harmony. Don't care what people say, I'm a woman and I was not offended at all, I heard worst songs about women just being a "sex object". I love that song. But I have to say that all the songs have that special something, which makes me like them all. It's a really great album.

Damla Gercek

You’re very welcome. I hope you enjoyed it FAM 🤓💜

WhatchaGot2Say

COME ON!!! I’m gonna read all of it too 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

It was definitely our pleasure for sure 🤓💜

WhatchaGot2Say

J-Hope almost caused me to have convulsions with that verse....like bruhhhh

WhatchaGot2Say

I’ve been looking for a good link to that performance. Specially the one that someone shared with me on Twitter when HOBI was going off.

WhatchaGot2Say

Ohhh what a great way to explain Jimin’s final high note at the end. Final cry of Anguish...yeah I feel that FAM

WhatchaGot2Say

Lol I was not expecting that at all 🤣

WhatchaGot2Say

That song almost ended me 🥵

WhatchaGot2Say

Very well said FAM 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

Yessss AA+ Tier 🙌🏼

WhatchaGot2Say

Yes! That makes me happy that you were able to experience songs that you haven’t heard previously with us 😬 And you read my mind about what I want to review next. Ahhhh Hope World. I’ve personally listened to it several times but I know the guys haven’t so it’s time for them to experience the greatness that is Hobi’s mixtape 😏

WhatchaGot2Say

Random Comments from me, lol: Thank you for this! It's one of my favorite albums. Personally, I'm glad y'all stop so much and talk, etc because I watch for your reactions and discussions, not to watch someone just 'listen' to music, lol. Also Nico, thank you for the RM & Suga comments, sometimes your JHope biasness is blinding, lol.. I'm kidding. I'm so glad y'all mentioned Jimin in Let Me Know, so many people over look what he does in all of BTS' music or they think it's JK. Rain.. what can I say, I love this song, I originally bought the album for this song. I watched a fancam for Rain the other day, and RM was a mood, he basically sang the whole song mic/no mic. <3

Madpleasure

Love is Not Over is amazing and another constant regular in my rotation. Jungkook co-produced that song, not everyone knows that. He also co-produced House of Cards while Tae did Hold Me Tight. All amazing songs where the vocal line is the focal point early on from debut.

Tajbabydoll

"Hot debate" and/or "fan theory" are only between people who have seen the live first vs listening to the album first. The vocal tone, control, and stability of the voice singing that note on the album can only be JK. Especially at that time in the vocal line's vocal development. And during the live, you can tell that the tone of Jimin's voice during that part is not the same as on the album. Even if you take possible autotune into account, Jungkook and Jimin's vocal tones are distinctly different.

Joanna Hordge

aw man now I gotta write like a HUGE fuckin comment

curvy tangerine

@Bri: It was Korean fans of BTS who raised the issue, and the issue was not just raised about this one song, or even only about song lyrics. Additionally I would like to mention that the situation in South Korea with women's rights and the way women are treated was/is <i>not</i> the same as it is in the USA, Canada, or Western Europe. Women still have to fight very hard to be heard or respected there, and frankly it's a miracle Big Hit paid attention.

curvy tangerine

to be clear for the fam: the thing about JK in "Let Me Know" is a fan theory which has always been a hot debate.

curvy tangerine

LOVE LOVE LOVE this album. My all time favorite. So glad you loved it too. Thanks for the honest reaction.

Melisa

Personally, I think a direct comparison between "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "War of Hormone" is a false equivalence. The only thing they have in common is women as the sexual focus of the lyrics. If you want to talk about the issue of all types of sexual lyrics about women across all genres and eras of music globally, then I think there are perhaps things to discuss about these two songs. But Queen is a rock band from the UK that started in 1970 and BTS is an idol group from South Korea that started in 2013—all very important details. One song is about fully-adult women that often weren't (and still aren't) desired by society, and the other is about conventionally hot young women. I also have to note that Suga's line about "body architecture" is simply a play on the name of a Korean romance film (direct translation: "Looking at you, I learn body <u>Architecture 101</u>" [the film name]). Less about being deep, more about writing a clever bar. The "deep sea" line is also a setup for a play on words. It's hard to explain if you're not looking and the hangul + romanization, but basically, in the translated bar ("If the standard of beauty is the ocean, you are the deep ocean itself"), the phrase "deep ocean" actually has a second meaning: "too much/too serious." So what Suga probably did is work backwards from that to create the overall double meaning of the bar (the second meaning would basically be "If the standard of beauty is the ocean, you are way too much to handle."). I'm not saying those bars are worthless. Being clever with wordplay, to me, is one of the most important skills for a rapper to have. But there is definitely a difference between cleverness and depth.

curvy tangerine

Thank! Always enjoy your honest reactions. Let me know is a favourite! Love yourself: Tear is my favourite album.

Ulrica Gröndahl

Yes one of my favorite from the vocal line🥰

Joy

"Does that make sense " I really want to hear the vocal line sing that live .There will be a song that connects with this song called outro : love is not over . It's from BTS - 화양연화 The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever Album. I really love J-hopes rap in 2nd grade the ways he switches his flow.😍

Joy

When I first saw the mv and the lyrics that was my immediate thought of the song. Like guys in high school going through that puberty phase. I saw nothing wrong with it.

Marie Davis

I love this album. I knew you guys were gonna love this album. The different styles and sounds that they did on this album was so different. The range on this album is good.

Marie Davis

It's 2 hrs and 4 mins of vid reaction but I haven't really noticed the time. I love this album and I love your reactions to it. My fave song here is "2nd Grade". I get so hyped everytime that I use it as my workout song. Lol. I hope you can react to its Live Performance. They were so young but so full of passion! Im sure AJJ and Blaze will love that performance as it has a lot of poppin'. And JHope there is crazy hot! 🔥 🤓

Iris

"Let Me Know" is a gut-wrencher. It is so solemn and sung as if their hearts are broken and that last high note that Jimin hits is the final cry of anguish when a relationship ends.

Lily Wrenn

Yes please do more albums review

Ron Sorn

"bro did they come in here with the ”shoobidoo bap bap bap"?" I LAUGHED SO HARD I HAD TO PAUSE

blue side

I think people so badly want to find problems with Bts that they purposefully miss the point of the song. It was actually kinda clever in showing the extremes our hormones will take us and the “fight” to stay level headed and find balance.

Bri

Does that Make Sense was literally the reason I voted for this album. All the songs on this album are still on my playlist, but this one is in regular rotation. The whole album is a bop, not one can be skipped!

Tajbabydoll

Honestly I dont have a problem with War of hormone because as you realized they were telling a story. The title of the song itself is WAR OF HORMONES on an Album about adolescence and way relationships go when you are at that phase. I am a girl but I have male siblings and relative and I can tell you when you are a teenager fighting with your hormonal thoughts and tendencies some stuff that you be thinking about would paint you as evil af and get you so canceled asap. So I think people didnt understand the point of the song. It obviously wasnt written to diminish and hurt women but was written from the POV of teenaged boys going through puberty and the hormonal and unruly thoughts that come with that. I do not personally find this song problematic and I think a lot of it was overreaction and unecessary hate. This album is one of my favorites of theirs and I find WAR OF HORMONES to be a very clever song about the warring feelings and the thoughts that go through the average teenaged boy's mind. that's my take on it

Gaica

Thank you for this! I enjoyed your reactions so much. You guys are so genuine. There are a lot of hidden gems in their older albums..

just another youtuber

BTW For "Look Here", songwriters are 250, Jinbo, RM, SUGA, J-Hope and the producer is HoBo. Other than the BTS members, there were no links to 250, Jinbo and HoBo in the website I was on. If Blaze got a Neptunes vibe, I got a Timbaland vibe, which is possibly the same thing?? Virginia Beach??

kolea626

Final thoughts (I'm writing too much, but it's early here) - my download says the title for "Blanket Kick" is "Embarrassed"; it's either one. There's a 0:46 Interlude: What Are You Doing Now, where they literally sing only "Mwohae" - there's a lyric video haha! And do you love the J-Hope orgasm of saying SUGA's name behind SUGA's rapline in the Cypher? It's persistent and pretty hilarious. Anyway, that's enough guff from me. Mahalo again! If you're looking to expand your reaction recommendations, best to start with the first Bon Voyage series (Northern Europe) and work your way from there. So much content out there, it will keep you guys busy - and the BE album will be out in a month. Good luck and stay healthy!

kolea626

I loved this reaction. Dark and Wild was my favorite BTS album for years until Love Yourself: Tear came in and knocked her from the top spot. Even so, Dark and Wild is a solid play through, no skips. And FYI, in Let Me Know, Jungkook is actually the one at the end singing the high note on the album. Jimin sings the high note in live performances since Jungkook is still ad-libbing and harmonizing during that part.

I'm so glad of Blaze's insight into the Intro: What Am I to You. There's a line where he says even his mom couldn't stop him, so that makes complete sense that he's talking about his music. Also, I loved the sexy jazzy vibe of "Rain" and the delivery of the music/lyrics completely hide the meaning of the lyrics as I wasn't aware of the lyrical content (SUGA's depression, which is well-documented). I think you mentioned in your viewing of AHL that SUGA looked older and pale when he was younger and that he looks younger now. Most commenters said that's because he was unhealthy when he was younger and that he's in a much better place within himself (physically/mentally) the last couple years, so he looks so much better. Plus he smiles more!

Ahhhh you finally did my favourite album. When I say Dark & Wild, you say AA+ Tier. Dark & Wild! AA+ Tier! Dark & Wild! AA+ Tier! 😁 Jokes aside, the boys have always been great storytellers and you can see this as the beginning of the evolution to how they tell a story today. Plus on the issue with WOH, as a woman and an adult and a mother, I can totally say that boys do go through that mindset with puberty but it doesn't mean they stay there. So what you guys say about growth is true. And I hate how they got flack for it. It's always been a fave of mine. But in this album gotta say 2nd Grade takes the cake for me. ✌️

For "Let Me Know" - I felt RM's delivery in the song was one of resignation. Blaze felt his part in the song was held back, knowing RM usually has a strong presence in BTS songs. Because RM sang the third verse in the rap line, that makes sense with SUGA going first. I fell so in love with this song that I looked up several live versions, and SUGA always sings along to RM's verses on the side. There is a version that they sing in a radio station and Jimin literally kills his high note and completely wows the female DJ - you can see V looking at Jimin, like now, Jimin, do it!

Sorry, that posted before I meant for it to go online: Danger - I'm with Blaze on "misogynistic" lyrics. Excuse me, but remember Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls"? Now, I happen to love that song and am NOT at all offended but haha Fat Bottomed Girls, you make the rocking world go round. Brian May was 31YO when he wrote that song, so if age was an excuse to write such lyrics, what's his excuse? DId you'all read SUGA's lyrics? He wrote about "body architecture" and "you are the deep sea" and a "mini cultural asset" - that's some deep lyrics to me.

Thank you guys for reacting to this Album! One of the things I love about BTS is that all their albums tell a story. It gives you a little bit of insight into what they are feeling and their growth as they move through their journey. I've never listened to the full album so some of the songs I was hearing for the first time with you and it's so awesome to be able to experience BTS' journey with you. I don't think I can choose a favorite song on the album, I absolutely love them all! As for the next album, I would love for you to react to Hope World! JHope has some amazing songs that always seem to be missed. Anyways, thanks again for the reaction!

You both dropped so many fact bombs at the end. This album is actually in my top 3 of their albums.

So basically BTS' entire discography tells a whole big story

It took awhile during my baby army experience to finally listen to D&W and I haven’t been the same since 😭😭 it’s definitely an unforgettable album with impeccable storylines. When I heard of Look here I yelled, “am I listening to blurred lines??” (Just the instrumental btw 😭😭). But yeah amazing reaction guys!!! I really enjoyed seeing your reactions to some of BTS best works. I can’t wait to when you guys do listen to every album so I can know what’s your fav vocal line Outro 🤣 do you make sense is such a great song wow. I personally would love to see album reactions to Skool luv trilogy. Theres some more gems in there that I listen to on the daily.

bts tries to tell the stories n struggles of the youth so their albums kind of follow that. They have an album about school, then they have dark&wild which deals with puberty and discovering love and also heartbreak. War of hormone was supposed to express basically puberty in young dudes lol but i guess it didnt come off right to some people even if the intentions were pure. Their next album series deals with again mental health issues, friendship, growing up and basically finding happiness in life, togetherness etc. Then came wings which is growing into adulthood and experiencing n fighting temptation etc. Then the love yourself series follows through with self acceptance n love. This series journeyed us through falling deeply in love, to self abandonment, losing yourself in love, and finally realising you have to love yourself first before you can truly and healthily love anyone else. And finally the map of the soul series which is knowing, understanding and accepting oneself in order to achieve self love.

The fact that that y'all are loving this album as much as I love it is the very reason I love this channel. I'm so glad that y'all see how amazing lyrically and musically Dark and Wild is.

TheOnlyDorita

You got the right idea lol

Rain is it, that's when I fell in love with BTS and considered myself an army. JK's song Still With You gives me the same vibes. Great reaction to this album! I always recommend reactors to go back to the beginning bcz its great muzic. They can sing anything. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I hope you'll react to a Second Grade live! It's one of the songs they just go on stage and have chaotic fun too! Also, even though this album is "Dark & Wild' half of these are on my "happy vibes" playlist. 24/7 Heaven, Blanket Kick, Look Here...And then Rain & Let Me Know are classics--it's such a good body of work. The lyrics aren't anything crazy (tho they're still clever and some still offer good insights and critiques) but the songs are so quality. And Cypher pt. 3 is the best cypher too. Easy.

COME ON!!!

Not my favorite BTS album but I still enjoyed this reaction so much, also blaze with that black chair with pretty outline metaphor for the rap line and vocal line lol I love it 💜

mariana

Omg. Please watch the live performance of Intro: What Am I To You! The lyric video does not do the live performance of What Am I To You justice. The chills you get from watching Namjoon pour his heart and soul out in this stage is insane and will leave you with goosebumps.
