Who Did RM Knock Out of Blaze's TOP 5?!

In our reaction to RM's "P.D.D" video - Blaze revealed that RM has now made it into his list of Top 5 Hip Hop Artists of all time

Inquiring minds want to know - Who did RM knock out of this coveted spot and who else is in Blaze's top 5.....

Find out in today's special Behind the Scene video 😁

Who Did RM Knock Out of Blaze's TOP 5?!

Comments

We forget that RM is not American and English is not his first language. I've been listening to Eminem, Tupac, Dr Dre, Nas, Outcast, LL cool J, lil Kim, Busta Rhymes and Wu-tang clan since childhood. RM is different and his lyrics are really deep. he has a really high IQ. He can smooth sexy rap remember Ddaeng.. (king of whispers haha) or aggressively spit bars like in Joke. And not mention he is still so young and has a long way to go. RM is also part of BTS as a leader I dont think he can fully focus on rap like other rappers. So for me personally RM reached TOP 5 Eminem, Tupas, dr Dre, Nas, RM. and I dare to say that at this moment I'm only listening to RM, Jhope and Suga.

Great, I haven't checked out that reaction yet. Something to look forward too!

Yeah he’s been diving in. We’ve reacted to a few songs from the mixtape so I told him he can go ahead and listen to the rest since we won’t be reacting to it. He likes it but likes Mono more 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

Tell me he's listened to RM, his first mixtape, bc oh god the lyrics really have you questioning everything.

blue side

Lol right. When he hears this Mono....I'm betting that RM will jump a few levels in that top 5 😁

WhatchaGot2Say

Imagine when he does!

Yolanda Castillo

Wait RM bumped out lil Wayne...but hasn't heard Mono right??!!

That is so awesome! We lived in several cities around the Atlanta area like Forest Park, Jonesboro, Riverdale, etc. How did you like it there? We loved it so much!

WhatchaGot2Say

Thank you for sharing this Blaze! But Honesty... I wish that this video was uploaded in YouTube too... Because I want Namjoon to see this 😭 I know that it's little the chances of that to happen.. But still... It makes my heart warm thinking of him watching and knowing the kind of fans he has 💜

Scaarlataaa8

I didn't know you guys lived in Georgia! I come from Brazil, but I lived in Atlanta for 1 year when I was 8 years old. I have so many great memories of that time! Where did you guys live?

Love Love Love that you shared this with us D'Alice! No apologies needed for posting a long comment. We love being fed substance and this was truly substantial. Thank you for the love you show us and thank you for partnering with us on this journey. 💜💜💜

WhatchaGot2Say

Thank you so much Tanya. We are real fans of hip hop and game recognize game so in short BTS has game, knows the game and are ambassadors of the game. Real Talk!

WhatchaGot2Say

Cool to see you give Outkast props! I don't know anyone in my real life who likes their music like I do. About RM, the fact that he can do music in his non-native language (English) as well is an impressive bonus

It goes without saying, this might be one of my favourite videos from you guys...the reason I stayed away...far away..from reaction videos for the longest time is because they felt so dishonest. Why put myself through that when I could just rewatch BTS?? But here I am... Big respect to Blaze here for sharing his thoughts and feelings with us. Thank you. Something that you said stuck with me - that the top artists/rappers will be the ones who touch us and inspire us to think. I think that's missing a lot today. That is also one main reason I love BTS so much. And after I found them, my standards have definitely gotten higher. Now I need good, meaningful lyrics for songs I hear, while being a bop. They have spoiled us...

Jiya

I really like this video. You guys are amazing.

(I'm not into rap but I'm trusting Blaze to educate me on who I should risk and try outside of BTS rap-line as they are my only rap exposure since I was a kid) So here I am taking notes and we get to 2, so I look up and see AJJ's face. Like Daaang! Yikes! Then I see Nico's highlight and have to pause so I can both write this moment and keep laughing. That was an entire awning's worth of shade in that one expression, AJJ @Blaze, thank you for sharing this with us. I'll go and listen to JCole because you aren't the first person to mention him. 💜

Thank you Blaze for your thoughts. I really appreciate knowing you boys' in my life time. Thank you thank you thank you...i am proud to a South Korean, sharing music with you all.

Blaze sounded very much like Wale when he talks about RM. To hear the passion with which he describes the artists in his top five made me want to go give them a listen beyond the few songs I’ve heard my children play. Thank you all for sharing with us.

Blaze intelligently and with "Real Talk" explaining his top 5 but the fact that he didn't forget about Outkast?? It truly amazes me how people real slept and stayed sleep on them! I didn't love this just because I agree with Blaze ( I actually agree with AJJ when it comes to JayZ but because there was real content and meaning behind each and every choice. And yes it goes without saying that 2Pac and Eminem are "Beyond A List." Blaze you beautifully broke down this list and Nico thank you for filming this and letting all the Fam be a part of this. So I will end this the way I tried to start it (my daughters feline walked on my laptop)...Wow I loved this!

Wow, I LOVED this!!! Blaze intelligently and with "

I was nodding my head the entire time during this and THANK you. Words cannot really describe how much I enjoyed this video – I even got choked up at points because of the passion you display. When you talk about music making you think and having an impact on your life, it brought me back to my musical upbringing. Beginning with Otis, Elvis, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Stevie, The Supremes, Ella, moving on to MJ, Janet, Whitney, Snoop, Dre, NWA, The Fugees, Nas, Outkast, Biggie, even with all of these greats, it was also Tupac that had the most impact on me. I had the ultimate pleasure of seeing Tupac preform live in 1993, right before he was gaining more mainstream popularity. His stage (if I am to use BTS term ) was incredible and even at 13 years old when I didn’t comprehend everything he was saying, like I do now, I knew he was unique in a way I couldn’t quite put my finger on at such a young age. I felt it when you said that sometimes he went HARD, but if that didn’t occur, I don’t think he would be as real as he was, and quite frankly even posthumously, still is. Jay-Z is also on my list. When I transferred my CD’s to my computer (cause that is what we had to do before streaming, LOL) I noticed that I inadvertently had every album of his. Honestly it was exactly like you said, he just keep producing hit, after hit, after hit and to this day I still know The Blueprint like the back of my hand. I also get a little flack about him being overrated, but he was the first rapper to become a billionaire, which was exactly what he said he would do. I also saw him in concert when he did a stadium tour with Justin Timberlake in 2015. Jay was on POINT the entire time and I was in awe of his sustainability. I was listing to this man in the late 90’s early 2000’s and almost 15 years later he was still spitting fire. Missy Elliott is my #2 after Tupac. She broke the celling when it came to female rappers and music coming out of the VA. She pushed the limits of not only her unique sound, but her fashion game was LEGIT. She also consistently displays such an admiration for the dance community. I swear if I didn’t have the serious injury’s I did, I would have been a dancer. (Side note: all of my injury’s came from choreographing dances for me and my friends. When I dislocated my knee it was to Quad City DJ’s “Come on Ride the Train” and got nicknamed “the train wreck” because of that. Le sigh….) I will also say this, full disclosure, for whatever reason I have not been interested in Kendrick Lamar, but I am now because of all the things Blaze has said. It was not that I didn’t know or respect him as a strong voice and artist, I just didn’t listen. I absolutely will now. Sorry for such a long reply, but I will finish with this: when people say you are the best reactors, this video right here is why. Your focus on music and dancing, along with sharing your truths, really connects with me and so many others. You take into account all aspects of BTS, but it is your honest love of music in general that makes you the most sincere and genuine folks out here. I laugh, cry, learn and grow with yall and I’m loving it. I’m very proud to be a Patron and get to witness and go along on this amazing musical journey. I honestly want you to meet them because of what you share about how they have inspired and re-inspired you. People often say that BTS comes to you when you need it most. It was the same for me and I think it is for you too. P.S. My comment was almost 2 full pages, that’s how much I wanted to share and reflect, but even I aint got time to read that! LOL. THANK YOU!!!!

D'Alice Craig

Blaze!! You brought tears to my eyes Fam!! The way you explained your reasons for loving each Rap Artist was incredible and I agreed 💯. When it came to your reasons for putting RM in your top 5 and How he inspired you to want to do music again really touched me. Big Hit should use you guys as Ambassadors for "The Rap Line' because I don't think any non Korean music lovers LOVE and APPRECIATE them and spread the word on their talent as much as you do! As Nico would say...."REAL TALK!"💟

Thanks for sharing this. After Blaze had mentioned RM was now in his top 5 I was curious about his top 5. It's just amazing to see the effect BTS has on people. And RM's writing is something else. It certainly inspires me to keep going with my own writing. I was about to give up on that and my music then I found BTS. They reminded me of why I love music and writing and it pushed me back into it.

AJ

This is probably the biggest compliment you could give RM. Him and Suga struggled for so long to be taken seriously as hip hop/rap artist and creators. When BigHit first formed BTS the focus was hip hop and that changed. Suga almost bounced because of the change. They trusted the vision of Bang SI-Hyuk, and the rest is history. I wish more people recognize RM, Suga and JHope for being hip hop artist just the same as others around the world.

Bklyngirl913

This is so enlightening! I was never a big hip hop/rap fan. When I heard BTS, they captured my attention. RM was the first one to intrigue me. Then I started paying more attention to Suga. There's something about him that I can't put my finger on and that's one of the reasons he's my bias. The well of raw talent, strength, honesty and that IT factor runs through him. It runs through all of them.

Tahirah Roe

I really enjoyed hearing this. You all are very intimate with your thought process with us, and it really connects us on many levels. Thank you Blaze for allowing us to hear about your top artist and how they got there. Thank you all for your inspiring words as well.
