I was really upset watching them pretend to kidnap these boys. They kept the charade going for a long time and were obviously trying to get in their heads and scare the guys. For a group of young boys to be in a country they don't know and everyone speaking in a language they don't understand and be "pretend" kidnapped must have been utterly terrifying. I mean we know SUGA woulda cut someone if anyone had tried ANYTHING (he's also protective of his boys when it comes down to it. I'd trust him with my life), but especially for the younger ones, that experience must have been scary! I thought that particular antic crossed a line. There also was never a real like "haha! just kidding guys! this was all part of the plan!" moment between the "kidnappers" and BTS. I don't know man, seeing JK thinking he was going to get sold off was just horrible. We shouldn't be making our idols feel that way just for entertainment value. I almost immediately understood why there are such mixed emotions about this series. It was such an important and formative time for these guys and getting this type of education really was vital for them as artists, but you also get some xenophobic vibes and definitely some disrespect from some of the participants so far (Dante and that one dancer that shoved Jimin/made fun of Jin). It's tough to watch that stuff knowing that that prejudice and disrespect is a LOT of what they faced at the beginning of their career (and still face today!!). Like others, I put off watching this series because I heard about some of the disrespect and that and didn't want to watch the boys get treated that way, but I'm glad I watched it with Niko, Blaze, and AJJ because it kept my blood from boiling just knowing that we were on the same page :) Thanks, guys!!
