I bought a professional beam dump
Added 2021-11-15 19:01:00 +0000 UTCIn the above video I unbox and assemble a professional (expensive) laser beam dump. May seem like an odd purchase, given I have build one myself and am pleased with its performance.
But since I have never used a professional one, I don't know how well they perform compared to my home-built one. So I bought one for testing it. Thanks for helping me fund these purchases!
At the end of the video I have a few, makeshift tests. I may be biased and unconsciously root for the one I built myself, so I am not calling it yet. Will make some more precise tests for a future, public video.

Sadly, my 6 year old editing computer died Friday, so I am behind schedule on the next public video. This Patreon video is the first I have made on my back-up solution: my mediocre laptop. Not optimal but it seems to work all right. I hope to release the next public video no later than November 30th - unless my laptop gives up on 4K video editing too...
