Have a free guess - laser strength
Added 2021-10-17 18:31:01 +0000 UTCAfter you have watched the video in the previous post, I would like to hear your guess on the true strength of the laser in the engraver module.
When tested on my laser power meter - calibrated to 450 nm - how high will it read?

Interesting to see how many believed it would perform over spec - and you were right. I know we are used to seeing higher outputs than the label tells us from cheap laser pointers. But when the label says a max of massive 5500 mW, I would expect they were optimistic. Thanks for participating!
2021-11-01 17:05:20 +0000 UTCBrave guess, Izzie :D I think it will not engrave 'shiny' metal but brushed stainless steel may be possible (at full power and slow speed). Haven't tried it on metal yet.

2021-10-17 18:44:15 +0000 UTCGoing to go with over 5500mW - I believe you need 8000+ to engrave metal directly.
