Bad Beams? | How divergent are lasers?

Nope... I thought a video about measuring a laser beam's divergence would be quick and easy. Just measure the beam width at two different distances. How hard can it be?
Well... hard once you try it in practice. The width of a laser beam or its spot is not obvious! Not to mention the safety aspects when measuring strong laser dots.

Thanks. I am only an imperfect human and want to be portrayed and treated as such :) There are enough inhuman demands to live up to in our world today. For this video, I really wanted more time to get closer to getting it right. Including better focused shots, dialing the exposure down to avoid overexposure that hides the peak values in the beam profile etc. But then again, I will never get a perfect result with the equipment available to me :) At least it gives me an opportunity to revisit this in a future video. Hoping for some good input in the comments on YouTube to improve the 'ghetto' technique. And as always, thanks for watching :D
