Measuring a patron's <3000 mW laser

I am starting 2020 with something special: Testing one of my patron's lasers on the laser power meter bought with the help of patrons!

The laser is advertised as being below 3000 mW. What exactly does that mean? Let's find out!

I also demonstrate a safety issue, that is all too common with lasers in this form factor.

Next public video will be released Friday. It is also something special to start off 2020 with. Let me just reveal it involves beauty products for the fun and beauty of it...

Measuring a patron's <3000 mW laser

Hi Kathy :) Yes, it is worrying. This is by far the strongest laser I have handled without a safety feature. An on/off switch with no indicator is not really enough. This laser can be handled safely by a knowledgeable and careful person, and I am against bans. But I do wish all manufacturers would have a bit of safety in mind...

It's so scary that it's possible to buy something like this with no safety features!
