Measuring a patron's <3000 mW laser

The laser is advertised as being below 3000 mW. What exactly does that mean? Let's find out!
I also demonstrate a safety issue, that is all too common with lasers in this form factor.

Hi Kathy :) Yes, it is worrying. This is by far the strongest laser I have handled without a safety feature. An on/off switch with no indicator is not really enough. This laser can be handled safely by a knowledgeable and careful person, and I am against bans. But I do wish all manufacturers would have a bit of safety in mind...
