Calling 2023

I’m currently trying to work out what stories I want to tell next year. I have Solver 9 and 10 set for January to March, and a print miniseries due in the spring, but beyond that my slate is empty. Everything I’ve done over the last three years has come out of the confusion of the early pandemic, where I was very productive, but I can feel the weird, shut-in energy of that period fading fast now and I am looking to find a new direction. I have a vague sense of what I want to do but it lacks a shape, my job over the next few weeks is to pin it down.

In any case, my work for 2022 is over. I’ve finished drawing Solver 9 and writing #10, ready to return to my desk on Jan 2nd. I’m sure I’ll have a few bits to share here before the new year as I am seldom idle. Here’s one to be getting on with. Trying out a new Clip Studio pen.

I hope you have a relaxing and re-invigorating holiday. All the better to face 2023 with a spring in your step.

Hope you get to relax and feel refreshed ready for that challenge! Whatever it turns out to be, I'm looking forward to reading it!
