I'm still not really drawing outside of making the comics, and trying not to beat myself up about it. But it leaves me with a shortage of Patreon-ready stuff. So here are some sketches and notes from the spring, before the year became more challenging.
They include:
A couple of Solver notes pages, including the first primitive sketches of Glenn Durgan. This story came together quickly after I abandoned the second NEMS comic. I put together some simple ideas in a shopping centre in Oxford, proof positive that sometimes inspiration just arrives.
Monster Hall Of Fame was meant to be a fill-in story but I couldn't find a shape for the story. I think I've shared a few other drawings from it.
Then there is a selection of hairstyles I came up with for my dear friend Greig Johnson. In the end he selected "The Kubrick" which was my favourite too. I don't think he's adopted it yet but I should see him over Christmas so I'll see if any fronds are descending around his collar.
Finally, some sketches while I was watching Kolchak - either the Night Stalker or Night Strangler TV movie. They're both up (illegally, I presume) on Youtube, though the quality of the former is poor compared to the visual feast of the HD latter. You're not there for the fidelity, really, let's be honest. It's just good stuff.
