I see many people have shared the Rick and Morty crossover thingy, which is sweet in itself, but there are a few "behind the scenes" type stories that I like to share with people when they get to certain points in the series, and this is the first of them. :) As you well know now, Dipper's main story arc right now is based on trying to discover the identity of the author who wrote the journals. We had a year between Season 1 and 2 to debate that very topic, and a thousand theories were flying around trying to solve the mystery. Inevitably, a few people were guessing correctly, and support for the correct theory was starting to gain momentum, so to throw us off the trail, Alex Hirsch deliberately "leaked" this photo (<a href="http://i.imgur.com/a40Whi7.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://i.imgur.com/a40Whi7.jpg</a> which shows a McGucket with six fingers under his bandage, writing in the journal. He really sold it, acting all "upset" that the photo had been leaked, convincing a large majority of the fandom that we'd been spoiled and that McGucket was, in fact, the author. So when we watched THIS episode, of course, we were convinced that we weren't learning anything we didn't already know, and when the memories revealed that McGucket was NOT the author, you could hear the sound of a thousand nerds cry out everywhere. :) As always, great reaction! Buckle up, because there's really no NOT significant episodes left for awhile!
