Guts told Rickert everything. Rickert knows about how the Hawks died and what happened to Casca and Guts. The only reason Rickert is there is because the monsters make everywhere else uninhabitable. We must remember that the world is this way because of Griffith’s ( Femto’s) actions. I love this part of the story, we get the flashback with young Guts and we get to see what Rickert is doing. Remember, Skull Knight saved him too!
