This is because were kind of going through the 'scott pilgrim' experience, or, one media is being made while the other is incomplete (the movie came out before the last book, yet the movie covered it as well) The over all narrative is relatively the same, just some details that either I realized, or was pointed out to me needed fine tuning.
This is also why I asked Semo to not go past chapter one to ensure consistency between the novel and the manga. Art should never be seen as 'needing to be perfect' as that's just stress on top of stress.
